The Nuggets have made injury plagued but offensively talented forward Danilo Gallinari available for trade, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Feel bad for Gallo and his botched ACL surgeries, I really like his game. He's under contract for one more year making about 11.5mil

On the plus side, Looney is actually a 4, with an elite skill. That alone should keep him from being a PJ level bust.

I think the problem is that as he sstarts to fall he falls into the range of teams that are thinking win now. They need their cap space for healthy proven players. Better to take a guy that can get on the court if need be or a draft and stash guy. I think this hurts Looney a lot.

Utah has the slowest pace in the NBA ,if the Jazz are moving up ,it's for a stretch 4 and to speed up
Gobert is great at defense ,but he slows down the offense and Favors doesn't help since he can't shoot the 3 ball

In contrast, Gobert’s post game is nearly as non-existent as his mid-range jumper.

Gobert is unable to threaten a defense with the ball in his hands from any area of the floor further than five feet from the basket,

Before the Kanter trade, the Jazz took 19 field goal attempts a game with seven or fewer seconds left on the shot clock. After Gobert’s ascension, that number jumped to more than 22. Gobert’s inability to get his own shot in the post placed greater strain upon the team to generate points by executing the offensive system.

Utah will have the great defense ,just not enough offense to win against the elite

The Jazz were never a speedy team this year, but things slowed even further when Gobert’s role increased. After his promotion to the startling lineup, the Jazz played at the slowest pace in the league (less than 93 possessions per 48 minutes).

Favors relies on the guards top get him shots ,maybe it turns out ...Favors and Kanter were poor defenders together even thouigh they can get points together ...and favors and Gobert slow down Utahs offense to too slow for the youngest team in the NBA

With Kanter on the court last season, the Jazz took 3.5 more field goal attempts per 100 possessions than their opponent. Gobert essentially reversed that number: 3.3 fewer attempts per 100. That net difference of 6.8 FGA is massive.

Maybe Utah is trying to get Porzingis ,using Favors as the asset....Porzingis just might turn into the highest scorer of this draft....Gobert and Porzingis OMG

So pace of play is more important than winning?

@ESPNSteinLine
ESPN sources say Lakers appear to be passing Dallas on list of likely destinations for Aldridge should he leave POR. San Antonio still No. 1

well you can't get rid of Gobert ,but you have 4 young guys who can all lead the break in Exum,Burks,Hood and Hayward .Golden State showed you can have the best defense and best offense and win championships ....With Gobert and Favors ,you have proven to be the slowest team in the NBA

Did we win with Favors and Gobert on the court together?

quoting from Andy Larsen at KSL: https://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=2...things-to-know-going-into-thursdays-nba-draft:

Quick player thoughts:

The Jazz do like Trey Lyles, especially his basketball IQ and size. The point above with Snyder's defensive development applies here, and they think he'd fit in well in his "play with the pass" system.

Frank Kaminsky isn't likely to fall to No. 12, especially given Charlotte's trade with Portland. But if he did, the Jazz worry about Kaminsky's age in two ways: first, they feel it limits his upside compared to some of the younger players in the draft. Secondly, given the load he took on at Wisconsin, Kaminsky's legs have more miles on them, which may shorten his NBA career.

The Jazz like Kristaps Porzingis, with some having him as a top three player in the draft, but know they're unlikely to get him.
Bobby Portis isn't likely to be the pick unless the Jazz trade down. They feel confident that he'll have a long NBA career due to his hustle, but won't be much more than a bench player.

Kevon Looney isn't likely to be the pick, period.

The Jazz do like Myles Turner, and have fewer questions about him than nearly any other prospect, due to his tie with ASM Sports, and the fact they've interviewed him three times now: once at the Combine, once at the ASM Sports Vegas workout, and once when he came to Utah for a workout. The worry with Turner is whether or not his upside is as high as some said it was coming out of high school, along with some positional worries about where he fits in today's NBA.

Mario Hezonja's likely to go in the top eight of this year's draft: he's just too talented not to, despite the personality concerns that he thinks he's the next coming of Kobe Bryant. But if he does fall, here's one thing to look at: his contract amount. In the NBA, the rookie contract amounts are set by the collective bargaining agreement, plus or minus 20 percent. A player taken at No. 10 overall is slated to make $2.068 million next season. That amount is likely less than Hezonja could make as a free agent among Europe's clubs, who aren't subject to the rookie scale limit. So if Hezonja's No. 1 goal was to make money, and if he falls to the Jazz's spot, he might choose to stay overseas for three seasons in order to negotiate with teams as a free agent, and presumably successful European player, in his prime. That might be enough to convince teams to pass on him.

RJ Hunter is at 27 on draft express. I want him.

#42, #54 and cash should get that done TBH. Buy a pick ala Gobert, 2013 and if they hit again teams will stop selling those picks.

Turner and Hunter would be a nice draft IMO. I realize that he didn't shoot the ball very well last year, but his shot section due to his role in the team and the attentions defenses gave him contributed a lot. Get him faster, stronger and more explosive at P3. Work with him extensively on understanding his weaknesses and how to fix them. Improve his shot selection. Improve his defense. I'd take Hunter before Booker and just let him crank off shots coming off of screens and handoffs until he gets strong enough to play with the big boys.

Yep they sure did ,I personally want to see Willie Caulie-Stein taken by Jazz (Best defensive player in the draft ) and then watch what Jazz can do with the best post defender and best big man perimeter defender ,thats how you stuff smallball

International prospects shouldn't be allowed to enter the draft unless they promise to play.

I'd be pissed if I was a team and he did that.

So trade Favors regardless if helps you win just so you can say you play faster, then draft another Center who can't shoot to guard perimeter players?

Great plan.

Pay attn Hack ,Jazz are already looking to get a 3rd big man to man up with Gobert and Favors AND WCS is a better athlete than Favors and Gobert .Id take him cuz he is as fast as Hood ,Burks and Hayward ,not Dante though ,watch him go up for lobs ...great defense leads to fastbreaks and turnovers
