Zach Lowe tells Utah (and a couple other teams) what to do in free agency

lol

Remember how obsessed the Kings' owner was with Stauskas? And now they're dumping him just a year later? God I love watching that franchise do its thing.

I'll need to do some research on the finances with that Kings deal. But certainly, my first impression is, "Where the **** were the Jazz?" Maybe the Jazz thought the desperation for cap room would come later like it did in 2013?

Anyway. I don't have enough information to really comment. But here I am I guess. W/e

yeah I'm not sure we would have had enough cap space for the dump.

According to Basketball Insiders, Thompson and Landry have fully guaranteed contracts for $6.4 and $6.5 million, respectively, next season. Landry is due another $6.5 million for the 2016-17 season while Thompson's $6.8 million salary for the 2016-17 campaign is non-guaranteed.

It would have been close to how much we have available, but looks like the jazz could have done it...

To all you cake Bakers

Why hasn't DL signed Booker yet? He doesn't want to bring anybody else in and is just chillin in his hammock, so why wait?

Hmmm that's a tuffy

But I thought we didn't have room for more talent?
You were a little confused. We have room for more talent.... Just not at the wing positions.

They should offer Monta and Rondo 4x15 each... they turn into Brooklyn West

So i live in the Sacramento area.... bunch of my friends are like we got rid of the dead weight and we gonna fill other needs. They owe two first rounders and now have gotten nothing out of 3 top ten picks (maybe 4 if you count McClemore). I am convinced one of us could have run that franchise the last 5 years and gotten way more than they have. Just STOOOPID.

Kings are this year's version of the Rockets. A team trying to make something big happen, but get completely burned in the process. Funny as hell to watch it all happen.

Except they will win 30 games and are mortgaging their future in the process...

Everyone says the pick swap doesnt matter... Okay, lets say Philly is the 4th worst team and Sac is the 8th or 9th worst team this year... Sac finally wins the lottery and Philly moves back to 5. Philly lands Ben Simmons or Skal and Sac gets Poetl... Kings fans and management are incredibly dumb.

Just listened to Dennis Lindsey on the radio - he pretty much said they decided to skip the wing FA market and show trust in Hayward-Hood-Alec rotation. Added Elijah to the list and talked about him and his defensive impact(I think it's about certain he's coming back next season from what he was saying about him). They haven't even explored getting any of the major FAs on the wing.

I listened as well. Decent interview... got the impression they are extremely confident in Hood and like Millsap very much. I don't forsee a Trey Burke trade or major acquisition... He cryptically mentioned he got an unexpected call and then there was no follow up convo on what it was.

Millsap at less than a Mill as a fourth wing is likely as impactful as say Kyle Singler who went for 5 years and 25 M. I think we maintain the flexiblity and evaluate the PG situation and if needed make a move near the trade deadline.

I think we are looking at value adds through trade or possibly nothing at all with our cap space.

In this crazy salary environment I think Cotton and Millsap might be crazy bargains and may end up having great trade value as players. Don't think I'd give those guys up or waive them.

I'm excited for if/when the Kings are inevitably sold and then hopefully moved to Seattle. Seriously, what is this franchise's legacy? A few good years in the early 2000's?

I can't even fathom being a Kings fan. Just when you think it couldn't get worse with the Maloofs, they get THE worst owner that I have ever seen. That includes Donald Sterling (the owner of the Clippers, not the person [who is the reigning worst owner as a person the league might ever see]).

I can't wrap my mine around that Kings trade. Just unreal.

Here, have one of our prized prospects and a draft pick so we can do a salary dump, so we can sign no one of importance in free agency, and still continue to suck, while taking a giant step backwards.

WTF? Seriously. How do you even own a team and be that dumb?

On top of how dumb that deal was. They are making an even bigger mistake not trading Cousins. If they could have had Randle and Russell for him they are fools for not taking that.

Give me Randle, Russell, and Stauskus over Cousins and some junky overpaid free agent. At least with that I have hope and can push the reset button on the team culture and attitude.
