What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

I understand people here hate Melo, but he is being under-rated.

Ya, I dunno about that.

He once was a top NBA player with a lot of value. But I think more people are starting to see that even though he has a lot of skill, it doesn't translate to wins.

The one thing that does make sense is Carmelo should be traded from the Knicks. They need to get something for him while they can. That asset is depreciating fast. And with Porzingis, that roster doesn't match up with where Carmelo is at. They need to pick a direction and go that way. Either trade Porzingis or trade Carmelo. I think they should trade Carmelo. I don't see him ever leading a team to a championship.

Carmello is going to have another 26-30 ppg season.

He is still one of the more efficient volume shooters in the NBA.

He is still one of the most versatile scorers in the NBA.

Unless he sustains another major injury he will still have a lot of trade value.

Well, whatever. To each his own.

I wouldn't trade a lot for him. I wouldn't even trade for him at all. Unless it were to aquire him cheap then flip him

Every example defending Melo is almost word for word how people defended Iverson when he reached his 30's.
They both are a joke. They don't play within an offense. They are cancers. Nobody wants Melo unless it's a team that is about to become too old to contend and its the last Hail Mary they can try.
If someone can change Melo it's Phil Jackson. So I am rooting for Phil to turn around the Knicks. I like Affallo and Lopez who they signed. I think their draft was good.
But Melo's history is selfish play. Always has been.
He has never averaged 4 or more assists per game(3.8 is his highest). For someone that dominates the ball so much..... That is pathetic.

maybe the pacers heard the jazz were working a deal for porzingis and Larry calls and says he will trade George for porzingis and some other players picks?

jazz trade burks, hood, Burke, lyles and some first round picks

they get George and Calderon

new York trades Calderon and porzingis

new York gets Burks, lyles, Hibbert and the gsw pick.

Indiana trades George and Hibbert

Indiana gets porzingis, hood and Burke plus the okc pick and the jazz pick next year top 3 protected

Utah does this because George will make them contenders. it strips the jazz of a bench but wow what a fun team

Indiana does this because they are going for a sudden rebuild and bird thinks porzingis is a 7-3 young Larry bird. (he is the expert) hood is a developing player that pairs well with the rebuild and the team will run.

new York does this because burks and Hibbert are ready to play now. they wanted lyles and future picks.

Knicks just signed Affallo and Robin Lopez. They don't want Hibbert. And Burks and Affallo play the same position.

"Hey Dennis, it's Larry Bird."
"Sup Lar?"
"Chillin. Hey, we reached out to someone, tried to trade them Paul George. They said, Nah, better get a third team involved."
"That's really interesting. Who did you call?"
"I'm calling you, Dennis."
"Ok, we'll take Paul George."

Suddenly, the Spurs are the no brainer #1 team in the west. The Twin Towers reincarnated.

not only that the thought was leonard + aldridge 1 2 punch is terrifying. even after big 3 retires, spurs will be set for another decade as long as they build a good team around those 2 tandem.

So where did the Paul George rumor start? Is it really an option? Or did someone hear about the Jazz going after Melo!
