What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

I have no hesitation about saying that - LMA is overrated and not only when people think of him as the Duncan successor. He is overrated, period.

No it wasn't. LMA is a good player but he isn't as good as people think he is. <That's the definition of overrated.

Yeah, exactly. He is an All-Star, no doubt. I just don't think he is a leader at all. He isn't a player I would want to rely on. The way he gets his points aren't efficient.

Pop could take him to the next level though. Get rid of all of the ISO's and get some more open shots and he could go to the next level.

This.

That might change in SA, but as of today, up till this point, he is overrated IMO.

Hmmmm, that would make whatever deal we might be involved in more likely.

I am excited to see a LA/TD matchup with Favors and Gobert. I think we match up well in that situation compared to the rest of the league.

I'm guessing it's the Lakers. They drafted Russell with the expectation that they would get LMA. Doesn't look like it will happen and now they want a do-over. They want Lyles, a pg (not Exum, please!), maybe Booker + draft picks as well for Russell.

Precisely. They want to take the worst season in Lakers franchise history and parlay that into an amalgam of miniature thimbles and trinkets from us.

I'm sure they were hoping for LMA, but I don't think they took it as a given after last year. They drafted Russell because Okafor/Randall is a terrible defensive foundation to build on. They aren't dumping Russell to try and compete this year. They will develop their players and wait until next year when Kobe retires and they have a butt load of cap space.

I have no idea how to feel about any of this.

This could mean absolutely nothing, but at the same time, it could totally mean something.
