Sources: OKC offering RFA Enes Kanter a deal starting at 15.5 per and will match any offer sheet

... imagine if we had to pay him 65M for the next 4 years.

With the amount of money being thrown around, I still think his trade value would be more than it was when teams were afraid he might just take the QO. I also still believe DL had every intention of keeping him long enough to sign him to a multi year deal if it hadn't been for the trade demand, just to have him as a trade chip this year. Had we done that, we also come away with Winslow or Turner at worst. I guess all I can do is look on the bright side, which is we likely don't know that the team is much better than we started out last year, and we'd all be wondering if the tank would roll into this year as well.

With QO withdrawn, newly unrestricted FA Cory Joseph is hot topic. SA didn't renounce CJ. Some think SA may bring back Pop favorite later

Utah pls sign

At one point I was driving the Cory Joseph Bandwagon. Since we have something like 16 point guards now, I don't see us signing him.

I'm don't think Cotton/Burke/Hanlan/Neto should stop you from signing a good player though. San Antonio will probably retain him somehow.

I was a bigger fan of getting Joseph before our defense broke out. While he can still help us on the perimeter, he won't be as useful as I once envisioned. I think his limitations on offense would drive a few jazz fans crazy.

FWIW

So. . . similar to Elijah Millsap, then?

I guess so. I'm not sure what their measurements are, but I think Millsap is bigger and can play a more physical brand of defense. Also, he's much cheaper. Joseph is probably the better player, though, so good point.
