2015 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

I select....

Shawn "Reignman" Kemp

See next post for his floor spacing ability.

The very definition of an inside/outside player. Kemp could do it all and made the game look effortless. He had a tireless motor and did anything it took to win. In his prime he averaged a triple double for 6 straight seasons while recording nearly 2 blocks and 2 steals to go along with 3 assists.

* 6 Time All-Star
* 3x All-NBA 2nd Team

Hey one other thing needs to be clarified in the voting process. Are we trying to build dynasties here so we have to take longevity and injury history into account, or are we building for the "prime rush" and considering all of our guys in their prime and going after the holy grail "Three-peat" run against all odds?

Good question... I've actually got no idea.. haha.. what does everyone else think?

My team so far:

PG - Isiah Thomas
SG - Dwyane Wade
SF - LeBron James
PF - Shawn Kemp
C -

Defense and offense at every single position. Solid percentages at every position. And you care to play the running game? 4 guys that averaged better than a steal in their careers, couple guys averaging over a block. LBJ or Zeke heading the fast break with the other and Wade on the wings and Kemp coming down the middle? Good luck stopping that, or even keeping up.

I think it simplifies it if we make this a 3-peat run. There are just too many debates over how long this guy lasted, or hey this guy would get injured he is so injury prone or you know he flamed out after 5 years or whatever. Much easier to simply consider all players in the prime trying to top everyone else and string together a few championship runs.

Sounds good to me.. LOL .. I didn't even think we're going for a 3-peat I thought we were just gonna go for like a 1-peat.. haha..

That is cool too, but the 3 peat idea does take chemistry into account, and maybe a little bit of durability but not so much as to derail entire conversations who try to say that "sure Grant Hill was phenomenal for 4 or 5 years of his career but his years lost to injury means you can't count him at all really", or whatever. We could all post the best 3 year runs our players had, stats- and accolades-wise and build the arguments off that.

True.. that makes a lot of sense actually.. as you said you need to take into account chemistry as well :)

We're drafting players in their prime. Then each match up in the tournament is thought to be a 7 game series. It's not that complicated, guys.

Thanks bro.. but ... uh.. you're OTC ... so before you leave don't forget to make a pick?!?!?!

It shouldn't be. But the arguments always derail into durability, mental stability, crap like that as reason for or against someone.

I think this part of the draft might be the most fun. Everybody has their stars - now how will they fill in around them, fun fun.

Sorry guys, I passed out last night and didn't realize it was my pick. I'm not used to having picks, lol.

But without further ado...
