Maybe this is the one Cy's looking at:

Which isn't quite as pretty looking. But still not bad. Has the one leg kick out thing like so many Big men shooters have had before him. In my opinion great, and for a big guy at least bordering on unreal.

Who dat?

This one is. Sorry for the confusion. For the record, I blame video quality

Looks really nice to me

I love Gasol's shot because of how quickly he shoots it and how he can triple threat from a very high position.

Quick? Ya.
Triple threat from a high point? Sure.

Perfect form? Not so much

Did I ever say perfect? Way better than Pleiss though.

Really this from the guy that defended Portis' ugly *** shot... Pleiss is fine from 15-18 feet... a less athletic, less strong Mozgov (as has been stated) is the comp imo.

1. Never said Portis "unreal" form. Just said it has worked for him thus far at pretty good range.
2. Never said I doubted Pleiss ability to hit shots at his current range. I think his shot is fine.

Here they call him "playss"

Finally a reason not to absolutely hate this ridiculous song...

The move at about 2:20 was poetry in motion. If he can teach this kind of **** to Gobert he is worth his weight in sauerkraut. (the one at about 3:20 as well)

Anyone excited yet?

At the 1:28 mark or so you get a good view of his form. His shot does come from above his head, about over his forhead. Not far back behind his head really. Looks very nice with real elevation on the shot. Not the frozen rope most guys his size tend to shoot.

Pleiss could be pretty good in the Jazz system, However I don't think anyone should get their hopes up for the second coming of Nenad Kristic... Luckily the Jazz won't need him to be anywhere near that effective.

My biggest issue is he's the kind of soft that shies away from contact(I watched him play 2 playoff games last month). He's not slow or uncoordinated though, so at that size with his activity level there's upside. He's probably sub-par in the rebounding dept, who knows, might be average.. He shows good hands for catching passes which I think the F/O is probably excited about.

Regardless of the weight he's listed, he's not strong in the lower body, he plays with a high center of gravity. I'd certainly worry about foul issues because he's likely to find himself in some compromised situations, especially if you're talking extended minutes.. Favors or Trevor Booker playing next to him does seem like a good compliment to his game though.

I'll just say this, he's no Walter Tavares! (who turned down 3 mil from CSKA Moscow to come to the NBA, I doubt Pleiss had that type of an offer)

'Edy' blocked the **** out of him multiple times 2 seasons ago(Laboral Kuxta vs Herbalife Gran Canaria), and kept him off the offensive glass totally and without a FG make.

Pleiss could end up an efficient player though. Here's some highlights from a 25 point game.

Very fair, completely agree on the high center of gravity thing. Lots of weight, but doesn't have the strength to go with it. Maybe NBA gyms/routines might help him out. He's 25 still.

Ugh, what? Dude won't be able to play 10 minutes because he will keep fouling everybody left and right. Around 6 fouls per 36 minutes in Euroleague. His career per 40 pace adjusted foul average is 5.9 and it is in the Europe. It will be much worse in NBA.

Oh shoot, I saw that he fouls 2/game. Maybe I misread? I suppose that's more in hind-sight that I estimated, given that they foul out with 5 over there.

Rudy was rumoured to be a fouling machine in the NBA, wasn't he? I'm not too worried, but he fouls more than I thought.

I wonder if it's something he developed over time. These videos are from 2012 and teh shot does seem more proper than his recent shots I've seen.

I'm not really seeing the Mozgov comparison. Mozgov's got more strength, worse shot.
