Trade Partners for TB

You know, Bag, comments like this sabotage threads. I wish I had the power to delete it. Hopefully, people will disregard it. I know there are guys on the board who are willing to give this some thought and come up with the best possibilities.
This is much more of a distraction than a silly joke. Most of your posts are.

Never said he has trade value. In my opinion he is addition by subtraction. But who is willing to take on his salary?

What say you? Running around not say anything yourself! Many people are willing to take his salary for one year as the option may not get picked up. I don't know why you are making big deal about this. As far as value? we won't get much than a 2nd.

I'm willing to bet that the Jazz trade a bunch of them in a deal for a big acquisition this year or next. I also expect them to sell picks for cash every year to help cover costs for some of the things DL wants to do. Utah is a small market. Let other teams subsidize their offseason.

Pretty sure the Jazz will look to unload hayward with picks to get THE MAN who ever that is.

In the NBA GM world, future 1st round picks are the equivalent of liquid assets in the finance world. They're the easiest thing to trade or bundle with other assets in a trade. Everybody wants them. I don't care how many we already have, I'd be happy to get another in exchange for TB at this point.

So you just want to salary dump him? Wow Jazzfanz really undervalues Burke. Going to be funny this season what a big part of the team he is and how much he contributes. I love Exum but I think Burke will outperform him early in the season, especially in consistency. The only way I see them trading Burke is if it brings a big upgrade at one of the starting positions. But that trade is likely to be moving a few players and picks. Otherwise why trade a young pg on a rookie salary that is a good cheap backup pg.

If Jazz want to dump him for nothing any team under the cap will take him.

He is a young pg that did great in college and has shown signs of being a good NBA player. Plus he is going into his third year and the work he is doing with the coaching staff is really going to show up this year. People here hate how much he shot but he was asked to do that and the coaching staff said that repeatedly. When he was benched due to defense he stepped up and played much better defense down the stretch. In games he shot poor the coaching staff told him to keep shooting. He can get to the rim pretty well but is still adjusting and working on finishing. This takes time for short PGs. His percentages will come up due to adjusting and due to the fact we are looking to win now (I hope) and not just improving the players.

I think he will be more likely to be traded if he plays well enough to be considered a starter and we stick with Exum as our starter. Then you assume he wont resign here and wants a chance to start again, unless he earns his starting spot back here. Plus he will be worth more than a late first or a project player who has slightly underperformed, which is what he is worth now.

As we all witnessed with the selection of Olivier Hanlan. What the hell are the Jazz going to do with HIM? Should've packaged both second rounders for perhaps a role player or something.

Thats just the nature of second round picks. Most of them don't end up playing in the NBA. Get used to it, Jazz have a lot of second rounders in the next few years.

I think you are overvaluing him. Burke may score more, but it's likely to be just as inefficiently as last year. While also not playing defense very well, or passing much at all. With Burke or Hood in the 2nd string Burke's primary contribution last year is no longer needed, or desired. We don't need a ball dominant PG with poor percentages who lacks both size and speed.
.
He gets to the rim okay, not well. But struggles to make correct decision when looking to do it. He gets tunnel vision a lot and doesn't pass even when well defended. Settling instead for bad, contested shots that shouldn't be taken. My problems are not how much he shot, but more along the lines of opportunities missed because of his lack of ability or willingness to pass the ball to players in better position than him to score it. And his dribbling for a majority of the shot clock on numerous occasions during a game is forcing us into bad situations more than his abilities help get good looks.
.
I don't see any NBA starting PG skills. Even decent backups should have one or 2 starting NBA player skills at their position.
.
If the Jazz can steal a late 1st round pick for Trey Burke then they should.

Pretty sure that Hanlan who is a Canadian Citizen qualifies to be able to play in Europe and we get to keep his rights. In other words a draft and stash product.

Its very unlikely he wont improve his efficiency. PGs almost always improve their efficiency their third NBA season. Also like you said we have a better bench where he wont be required to score as much. He has shown the ability to pass more and is able to facilitate when there are players around him that are capable scorers. He was asked to score and shoot a lot last season. There was a bunch of D-league talent around him coming off the bench, I think he did what he was asked to do, shoot a lot. He also played good defense at the end of last season. There is 0 reason to believe he wont continue to play good defense like he did the end of last season. If you see 0 NBA starting skills in him then we should try and buy him out and move on. Clearly the Jazz FO and coaching staff see more in him than you do and I think you greatly undervalue him.

Its funny how a player I didnt like when we drafted him, never wanted him and still dont want, I have to stick up for on this board since he is so hated and undervalued here. But this board needs a bad guy on their team. We have to hate 1 player to the point of going over the top.

Burke is probably not a starter but I think he will be a decent backup pg that is a score first, high energy, vocal bench leader, who plays decent defense and needs to be guarded closely since he can score in a variety of ways.

Some team will have an PG injury this season and need a PG to be starter or key reserve. I think that is when Jazz make their move.

Yes, and get a second round pick or two ... I'd be happy with that. Don't know where you see any improvement in Burke's play, as you suggest. GB's post hit the nail on the head.

His defense is decent? I believe his defensive effort is decent. I do not see decent defensive results. Now if his shooting was little better then it would be okay. Like if he shot 38% from 3 like he did in college.
