2015 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

It's usually 3 match-ups, then a 24 hour voting period. Once that finishes the next 3 match-ups start, and another 24 hour voting period begins.

Might be an idea to start your match-ups/voting a certain time so it's always consistent?

If they're 24 hour matches, then yes. 3 first day, the other 3 once the first batch ends.

I think 10 AM PST (11 AM MST) is a good time to start each one.

First group of three:

Hack vs. Thee jazz fan

Eminence vs. White Chocolate

ONE LOVE vs. Siro

Second group of three:

Ellis269 vs. tfivas

Spycam1 vs. Jeffrey32

LogGrad98 vs. Hekate

Also, I don't know if they'd do it, but I think it's a good idea to ask mods to lock finished matches threads so that they'd drop and make newer ones more visible.

Usually we only have line ups the way we've done already in the thread (starters and back ups), then we do a write up of why our team works and will win. Some also do a write up specific to their matchup. I don't remember ever seeing minutes distribution, but you can do whatever you want in your write up.

I remember a couple doing it. It does give the voters a better idea of your stray and who will have the biggest impact.

Just so you all know, I'll read your write-ups before voting. Everyone put a lot of time and effort into constructing these teams, so we might as well do each other the courtesy of listening to what each person has to say about their team.

This.

This is where the fun part ends for me.. haha.. trying to "sell" your team to everyone. It's not how basketball is played, tbh.

Every year I wish there was a program or a machine we can input all our team & match-ups into and spits out the winner according to some set formula based on actual stats.

I mean, you could do it in NBA 2K15, but the problem is even those programs have bias. For example, I'm sure that game values certain players more than I personally do. There's no objective way to do this--that's why you're at least given the chance to defend your team in a subjective process.

Si.com did the All Time Fantasy draft a few years back amongst writer and they commissioned a stats company to run simulations.

It's possible if you have $$$.

Edit: Seems they have closed down that page but here's a link to a forum discussing the results, etc.

Seems they used this site for simulations:
