Summer 2015: FIBA games of Utah Jazz players

Now we get to hold our breaths every time Gobert plays. Believe they play Serbia tomorrow. They have some big dudes. The biggest though has had to pull out.

Sorry, the Jazz got no corner on God's favor, and the faith of the Jazz Fans... should probably not be tested, at least in this way... would hate to see an 8 month rehab extend to 16 months...
I'm just saying... anyone who's ever played church ball can attest... The Church is True, except when it comes to Church Ball...

Holy crap is that the truth. When I was a kid we had church ball suspended for 2 years entirely for our stake due to fights and bad behavior on and off the court. I watched a ref, reffing his ward's game because no other ref showed, watch this kid get punched in the face by a kid in the refs ward and he did nothing. Our guy was bleeding from a nearly broken nose and they scored a layup and the dude did nothing. Church ball definitely is NOT true.

It's rugby mixed with a street fight with some dribbling thrown in, and a prayer before and after.

In Memphis I was in the only Mississippi ward in the stake. So for some reason that made us outcasts at stake functions and church ball. My brother and I played every game. We are both adopted and he was older so he was always the big one and I was the fast one.

On one play I was driving to the hoop and a kid drove his knee right into my thigh, hard. No foul. On the next play as I'm trying to rub out my thigh. This kid tries driving against my brother. Brother grabbed him and tossed him right into the chairs along side the court. That started a fight and my team got thrown out. Guess they didn't like the "outcast ward" beating the crap out of their kids in the stake center.

Church ball is rough.

I am almost positive the only times I've ever sustained injuries to the face and head that lead to bleeding during basketball it was during Church Ball... and I can recall instantly 5 times I had to come out of the game with a cut above my eye, bloody lips, and a bloody nose. The worst was I had single-handedly destroyed this ward team in the final five minutes and we were up with 10-15 seconds left and they had to foul. I got the ball and waited for the foul and the guy comes high with elbows and just nails me. Opened up a nice gash above my eye... I had played against the guy who delivered the blow countless times at various pick up games at gyms.

Something happens to guys when they hit the cultural hall floor and its not good.
