What's new

Donald Trump

First, I do hate the Star Wars prequels... so now we can disagree on politics.
Rev, you're right, but still full of **** on this one. Carter's actions spawned Bin Laden and Clinton had multiple opportunities to deal with him. While Bin Laden attacked while W was Prez, laying this one on W is like crediting Obama for killing him... Oh? No, don't say it...

but the way barrack hussein hitler obama talks is like he personally hunted his cousin osama down and personally shot him.

Absolutely love the guy. Don't trust him much though, but what Mark Cuban said about him is 100% accurate:

I don't care what his actual positions are," Cuban wrote. "I don't care if he says the wrong thing. He says what's on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years."

He is America's Nigel Farage, the only other politician I've seen in the English speaking world that doesn't hold back(Christie is up there too, but he doesn't rock the boat as much as he should). Doesn't worry hurting feelings or being PC. Precisely because neither of them are politicians. The world needs people leading that tell it like it is...

Are you sure you and Cuban aren't mistaking good television for good politics? Cuban has made all of his money in the cinematic/televisual world, so that's a fair thing to wonder about him. What about you?

I can't see why the ability to pop off -- while on-script or off- -- should be a necessary quality in a leader.

Good post

Many people see that as honesty. They feel they can trust him, something in very short supply among politicians.

She ran HP into the ground while several of my family members worked there. Don't think I could bring myself to vote for her.

If Fiorina won, it would be perhaps the most quintessential example of 'failing upward.'

It does make one wonder (or me at least), given her running of HP into the ground, what is it that makes her think she's Presidential material?

Are you talking about Trump? If so, I find it odd that a person who speaks as inaccurately as he does could inspire people to see him as honest. He often says things in a way that is so imprecise and often downright false that I either think he is a moron, he is intellectually not just dishonest but a downright liar, and/or he is pandering to idiots by speaking like an idiot.

Fiorina has helped destroy thousands of American jobs that are now in India and Singapore. It's funny how as an HP employee I would get a monthly newsletter stating how many millions the company has made in profit for the year bla bla bla, and behind the scenes enforcing an aggressive policy of outsourcing and looking for cheaper labor in foreign countries. I hope people see the hypocrisy in this.

I'm happy for the people in India who have opportunities to provide for themselves and their families because of those jobs.

Singapore is already pretty damn well off, but people need jobs all over the place.

television has confused people. Trump has so much practice in front of a camera (relative to other political candidates) that he's able to seem like a real personality. That is, a "real personality" instead of some other kind of person put into a ridiculous campaign scenario with cameras rolling. What does that have to do with honesty or leadership? So much of this stuff is relative to televisual satisfaction, so we go for the personality that provides the most live event satisfaction. It's ridiculous. It's our own version of what's happening in North Korea -- cults of personality, braugh.

At the cost of American citizens, being an American company? with American clients like Bank of America? They are free to do whatever they want as a private company but I have no respect for someone with those views. She only thinks about protecting her own kind (more money for the big guys) and cares **** about the American IT worker.

Funny you should say that while advocating for American protectionism that essentially has the goal of maintaining U.S. gluttony at the expense of starving children around the world.

It's not that simple. American corporate CEOs also have a responsibility to 'maximize share price,' (within reasonable limits I'd add). There are literally hundreds of millions of everyday Americans invested in the stock market, including large shares of their retirement pensions (including me). It's a good thing that CEO's take profit maximization principle seriously.

Obviously, Florina did a poor job of doing these, she not only outsourced jobs but lost profits as a result. If you do the former, at least do the latter as well,

Just how the hell does this Lady think, given her massive failure as a CEO, that she's Presidential material. I'm curious what goes on in the minds of people like her. The ego must just be massive.

A population of over 300 million that spans a continent and encompasses multiple cultures attempts to pick a single leader. Of course this was going to happen. Even our Representatives which are supposed to represent the populace are approaching 1 in a million status. America is too large.

The starving children in the world is unfortunate. But wouldn't you care about a starving child at your home (to state an example) rather than your neighbor's starving child? Each country can figure it out on it's own, the way the US did when we declared our Independence from the British crooked banking system and royalty. With a small 'r' because that's how I view royalty.

can't/won't argue with that.

Yes, I am talking about Trump. He speaks off the cuff and without all that political polish and to many people that is coming off as honest. Accurate or not, many see it as his honest opinion.

I personally think Trump is terrible but he is obviously connecting with people.

But hey nothing a discussion over a home made beer can't fix :)
