Some interesting ones .. He just had a pretty good game last night with 22pts, 4/5 from 3's. (but only 1 assist :()

Hopefully he'll have a great year this year.

Burke: "I think the game is slowing down even more. I may have said that in the past, but I think it's really starting to slow down for me."

Trey Burke said he's working on his balance with Igor Kokoskov, being sturdy when he gets in the paint and being able to make better reads.

Trey Burke on Quin's offense: "In year one, it was mind-boggling for all of us, there was so much being thrown at us."

All he needs to do is hit his jump shots to be an average PG in this league. I wouldn't take that bet personally, the sample size is too large, but its within the realm.

Anyone besides me worried about his quotes? We've always had mediocre players who have one good game out of ten so we just give them a pass on the rest. I'd be stoked if he could just be average!

He does have a point about the new coaching staff and system. Last year was a lot to learn. Maybe he is just slower than the core. it is possible.

What is there to worry about from those quotes? The whole interview was pretty much what you want to hear from a young player especially one that has had his struggles.

I will say this about Trey--the Jazz haven't had good spacing on offense due to flakey outside shooting and limited offensive versatility from our bigs. That hasn't helped Burke. Due to limited size and athleticism, Trey doesn't have a lot of margin of error in his movement or his shooting windows, and better floor spacing would help him quite a bit, I'd think. Put a guy like Patty Mills on the Jazz right now, and I'm guessing he'd struggle a bit with our spacing too.

Not really, he's quick and can shoot really well, two things you can't say about Trey

If he hit 100% of his jump shots he would be a super star. The best player in the league.

This is what's so strange to me about this board and Burke. He could literally do a great job and get zero credit from some. He shouldn't be judge off the player he was two years ago or even last year he should be off of his production this season. So far he's shooting 49% from the field and 44% from 3pt line.

Yeah, but you have to exercise a lot of caution since last year Burke also dominated the pre-season (much more so than this year). Hopefully he has made long-term improvements, but it still seems like Burke struggles vs. length in shooting situations when defenses play more aggressively, which typically happens when the season changes from exhibition to actual games.

And he looks a bit different. Moving better. There is more purpose to his movements on offense. Playing decent defense. His shot selection has been better. I think he is getting it. That doesn't mean he won't have stinkers and fall into old habits here and there.

Until an obvious good deal comes along I'm just fine with Burke/Neto/3 Wings. We will have to wait until teams start dropping out of the playoff race before good upgrade deals come along.

My dream stat line for Burke is 4-8, 1-3, 2-2, 11 pts, 4 assists, 1 TO.

Exactly... wish he would dial it back a bit and shoot the open ones and be a ball mover.

No doubt, but what I'm reading isn't cautios pessimism. He's been way better defensively to boot. Of course it could all go to hell for Burke in the regular season again. However until it does why not appreciate the significant improvements that aren't just statical, but obviously visual IMO. As some one said he looks like a different player. Making quicker decision and finishing at the basket, and maybe most importantly staying in front of his assignment and fighting through picks.

Unless all the players hit 100% of their jump shots. He'd get lost in the shuffle. But your right, if he hit 100% of all his jump shots that would be something to write home about. If he would just learn to dunk from half court, he'd be spectacular too. He'd also be a superstar if he dished 20 assists per night too. Not to mention if he grabbed every rebound in a game that was available. Good times.
