What's new

Ok this game will be fun ,Tuesday OKC vs Utah

I couldn't watch the game last night but followed it via tweets. In my view, commenters were firmly locked in overreaction mode. Many good teams are going to be embarrased by OKC this year. This is the first game all preseason in which we've actually tried, and it was against on of the 4 best teams in the league. In an 82 game season, every team has bad games. San Antonio got pummeled by Phoenix last night, even playing its major players 25 plus minutes. This happens.

With that said, I am concerned a bit about Gobert, as he seems to lack the fire he had before. Something seems off with him.

Yesterday's game is indicative as to what I'm saying. This team is good and talented, but still too inconsistent. We played pretty well excluding the first quarter. Jazz I think will have a lot of games like yesterday where they will lose because they had a really bad quarter or half. There is still plenty of refining to do. This doesn't mean I'm down on the Jazz just being realistic.

Perhaps Rudy is tired.

That was the problem in the early part of the season last year--they'd fall way behind in the first quarter by up to 20 points and play the rest of the game frantically trying to catch up. I really, really hope that pattern is not repeated this year.

Karl Malone believes that these Utah Jazz will play well. Karl Malone talks to Quin Snyder and Karl Malone feels like Karle Malone is talking to Jerry Sloan. Karl Malone know about being tired during the season. If anyone remembers Karl Malone wrestled with Diamond Dallas Page against that worm pervert Dennis Rodman and motorcycle mustache man Hulk Hogan. Karl Malone was tired, but Karl Malone is a real man. Karl Malone knows Gobert must be tired, but Gobert needs to push through with the FIRE that Karl Malone know he got.

Karl Malone thinks the point guard problem is real things. Karl Malone would have been more like Big Country Reeves without Karl Malones Stockton friend. Karl Malone knows the Jazz need a PG, but Karl Malone knows the options are limited. Karl Malone thinks trading for Jrue Holiday or even Devin Harris again. Remember Devin Harris did help the Utah Jazzer-mans make the playoffs a few years ago.

Karl Malone knows best Jazzfanzies. Karl Malone owns his own car dealership.

Exum made a difference on that end but Millsap is the best defender. I feel like people forget that he was usually put on the star perimeter player when he would come in and he would do a pretty decent job.
No Exum and Hayward are both better defenders. Millsap is also worthless offensively and that is mostly why he doesn't belong in the NBA.

We are in agreement Millsap is a complete 0, maybe even less than 0 on offense. Like I said, Hayward and Exum do fine on that end but Millsap was our best perimeter defender last season, why else would he be on the court and why else would Quin decide to put him on the best perimeter player (Westbrook, LeBron, Harden, etc.)

It's alright though, explaining defensive value is obviously a lot harder and a lot of times it is objective. Any defensive stat there is out there though would put Millsap on top I'm sure.

We looked good against the Lakers. The wheels fell off since then. Thankfully I think we can expect much better performances from Hayward, Favors, and Gobert when the real season starts.

Not everything was bad yesterday. They went back from -20 to -3 so they must have done a few good things.

Now Favors and especially Gobert were bad, and Durant / Wesbrook were on fire, it was a bit too much to win this game.

We saw glimpses of greatness though (Hood, the defense, a slightly better Burke, a good Hayward, Withey...). Don't panic, it's still preseason.

I can like you more than other Karl malones poster!

Fair enough. But people are also judging this team a little harsh.

OKC is a favorite to get to the finals.

Jazz need to work on spacing, 3 point shooting, FTs and the PG position is weak. But we already knew all this.

What I saw is a championship quality team throw the first heavy punches and rock our team. Then I saw our team buckle down and hang with them thru 3 quarters. OKC is clearly the better team but I saw the progress the Jazz have made and that we still have a way to go.

It's not like we are all talking about the Jazz being a contender. We have been talking about the Jazz being the 8th or 7th seed. Jazz will have to fight for it and figure some things out (like those listed above) but it is doable. And I think they will.

I dont know man, we sucked pretty bad.
