Preseason Finale Denver Nuggets at Utah Jazz. 22 Oct 7pm, ESA.

It's all good. He's not gonna kill my buzz. I've been counting down the days since the season ended. I hate the off season, man. Christmas always comes in October for me!

Go Jazz!!!

Good! I don't want to! Go Jazz indeed!!!!!!

Or the whole over reaction from Jazz fans. Play great sure. We all want that. Must of us don't call for trading away players though.

Seriously. Every fan wants their team to win, but not every fan is going to go bonkers over one pre-season game or claim that the end of days is near because of some pre-season game losses.

I would rather see more level-headed posts because it's a waste of time reading extremist opinions.

Many things;

- Those were the worst PG's the Jazz will face all season. Easily

- I really want to believe Trey's shot selection has improved. The amount of times he's getting blocked makes me weary... it does appear he's taking better perimeter shots though, in a better rhythm.

- Neto's shorter than noted undersized guard Nick Johnson, meaning he's fractionally shorter than 6'2" in shoes.. I'd say 6'1½"

- Neto looks like he's about to seriously out-play his draft position and pay-grade, which should be worth a few more wins over the season.. I wonder how the experiment goes vs bigger, stronger more athletic PG's. If he can keep defenses honest with that 3ball, watch out. I still don't really like his chances shooting, lets say 32%, over the course of this season..

-Neto's defensive lapse where he let Erick Green go coast to coast was ugly, that's how I'd be telling my PG's to deal with Neto trying to steal the inbounds passes though - get him on your shoulder and take him for a ride down court, no one stepped in to help, resulted in an easy fast break layup, when they should've been running half-court offense..

-I'd consider starting Neto, his shooting doesn't look that bad - despite those awful %'s from the ACB last season. The team seems to run well with him in the game, even since 2013 SL.

- The Jazz signed Joe Ingles for almost 2x as much as the Heat got Gerald Green for. Also Pleiss' contract could turn out to be legit, as of now, I still refuse to believe those 2 signings were proper 'bang for the buck', they could've made the bench more formidable (without spending more)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVq2wCbSP94 -- Elijah Millsap makes 900k this season, Green makes 1.3... I ask; Which was $$$ more well-spent???

- As I said in my last one of these - Something seems awry with Rudy's FT shooting.. too many moving parts, if his form is right, which i suspect it isn't.. he's still gotta slow himself down up there.

- Locke's play-by-play, really has its ups and downs - The sequence when he called the play and the pick didn't come was cool. He honestly needs to stop interpreting minor things and just call the ****ing game though.. You could even tell Ron Boone was basically rolling his eyes at some of his explanations.. Always said this about Locke - He's the media type that would get eaten alive here in NY.. Last night's game was just another example why.

- Conversely; I thought Ron Boone was especially on-point last night, more so than usual. I HATE that Boozer-Lyles player comparison(Boozer was a C in college and Lyles was a SF..) that Adrian Dantley one he made, was pretty damn cool, that's the type of perspective I appreciate.

-How's Locke gonna do all that homework and then go and pronounce Lauvergne phonetically like a 4th grader, on a live broadcast.. ?

-Not saying it for humor or anything like that, Locke's a tool, 100%.. It's one thing to be a 'company man', he takes it further than that. Reminds me a bit of Kevin Heffernens character in Super Troopers.

- I love talking basketball, I bet I wouldn't enjoy talking basketball with Locke at-all though.. in-part because he's biased, in-part because some of his opinions are ****/off-base.. I also feel I could do a better job doing play-by-play, without any notes/preparation..

- Locke just doesn't give off the aura that he's knows what he's talking about - He seems more like he's scrambling to try and give off that aura... Why explain what True Shooting percentage is on-air, if your going to struggle thru it? Why even bring that example up, multiple times - to frame Alec's 3pt shooting in such a negative light?? Who the **** is David Locke anyway - to be questioning someone's 3pt attempts, when their 36% from 3 for their career??? That's overstepping boundaries IMO.

-Jokic on Denver looks like he will be a serviceable backup for many years in the NBA, he's very young too.

- That game was far the worst Faried has ever looked vs the Jazz, I remember he even put Millsap on blast a few years ago..

- Since they drafted him, I've suspected Trey Lyles would play more C than his college position SF.. Trey and Booker were running as the 2 bigs yeserday, so it seems that will take place.. I actually like it better than putting Pleiss in the game..

- The Jazz still managed to get outrebounded last night (by 1) - I'm keeping a close eye on that team statistic. Last year Utah and OKC out-rebounded opponents by 4.8 per game, to lead the league. There's no way they can take a step forward if the rebounding isn't in or near the top of the league..

- Alec looks great facilitating, looks like he hasn't missed a beat, the team seems to play well around him too. Alec's passing kinda looks sharper than ever, (except that one pocket pass he threw away early - that was one I hope he learned from).

-When Trey and Alec are in the game, the offense seems less predictable, and the ball movement seems at its best.

-If Alec can consistently facilitate, and Trey can shoot quality %'s like that, it's great... leave it as is - **** how it looks in the boxscore, Trey's not turnover prone so it won't look that bad anyways.

I'm saying that I think we could have got more. Obviously Kanter didn't make it any easier with his trade demand but I think we could have got something better. And I have no idea what was offered or available but I would hope we could have got more for the 3rd pick of the draft.

The best way I've heard it said is that we traded the right to overpay Kanter (I don't recall which poster I'm stealing that explanation from). Getting a division rival to do it was just gravy. Do you honestly believe there was a better offer on the table and DL didn't take it? Kanter's value was very low for the reasons you've already stated (and more, since the court has two ends). The fact that he was once a third pick is irrelevant. Additionally, moving him played a major role in the development of this team.

Last nights PGs were terrible but Trey has had a good 3 games. Last 2 PGs he played were Westbrook and Lillard.

I couldn't see much of last night (computer problems), but it seems like Burke has a better time coming off the bench. Interesting substitution patterns by Q. Has there been any indication (like, in the media) of whether the starting group and rotation were a sign of things to come?

I think i remember cy saying that quin said last nights game was going to be played like a regular season game. If thats the case, then I would expect neto and hood in the starting lineup on wednesday in detroit.
Will be interesting to see

Better time? He's played well in every role basically all preseason long.

Just a really good showing by him. Let's hope he builds off it.

Preseason has certainly showed how Alec most definitely won't be trusted at the 1. Thank God. Hold down the fort, Neto and Trey.

Whatever dude. That's an over-statement every single time he leads the team in shot attempts..... which he seems determined to do.

In other words, your answer smells.

I can also base my question on last year's performances off the bench, which were better. So, I'll rephrase: Could last night be used as any indication that Burke will again be utilized off the bench? Was he better getting others involved?

Alec had a fantastic preseason. Led the team in assists, took less shots than almost everyone in the rotation yet still averaged a good amount of points, rebounded well, didn't turn the ball over much, and played good defense.
I think pre season showed that he won't be NEEDED at the one since trey and neto played well. If those two start to suck though, I feel happy knowing that alec looked just fine running things so far

Haha. Get out of Cy's [edited by moderator].

Didnt you say you quit Jazzfanz if Neto made the team over Cotton?

Don't care if you do or not, just remember you being very anti-Neto.

Agreed, he also made a couple of bad fastbreak decisions as well. His passing has definitely improved though.
