I agree that there are more that outright condemn it that emrace it. In Australia a top cleric basically told any muslim suporting ISIS to get the hell out of Australia and stop ruining their good name.

But I have a question for you Dal, do you believe anything should happen to mosques that support, even indirectly, terrorism? And if you do, what?
 
What should happen to me if I say that what ISIS is doing is good and just?

I can do that right?

I wouldn't. But if I wanted to I could, couldn't I? Or an I forced to agree with my national policy?

Point is, I think mosques have every right to ideologically support ISIS if that's what they want to do. I would hope none of them would, but they have the right to.

There are universal codes regarding the superior importance of human life so I guess there also are boundries about the freedom of choice. Basically it is not freedom of choice if you are beheading People for not liking you. Believe it or not those guys kill Muslims that does not agree that their way is the right way.

In the U.S. I have freedom of expression. I can hold and express whatever opinion I want.

I cannot provide material support to an enemy of the U.S. but I can express my opinion that they are ideologically correct if I want too.

That's why it's okay for people to openly be members of Nazi groups our the KKK, out run for office as communist party members.

So if a mosque said that according to their interpretation of the Koran ISIS is in line with God's will that's their right to say that. Shutting them down for expressing that opinion is wrong. It's a double standard.

I respect that. But I think supporting with thoughts has its material effects. There is a difference between supporting a socialist party, joining a symbolic outdated Nazi club and supporting and preaching a truly active and massacring powerful terrorist organization. If you are able to get into young minds with your preaching, you are gaining potenial members in favor of them. And if this is in the US, it is a Trojan Horse.

The marketplace of ideas is a dangerous thing but it is a good thing.
 
So verbal support, while disgusting, is allowable. Is that the line? What about materiel or financial support?
