Trey's parents strike again on Twitter

This time it's his dad, Benji.

Also from the realgm thread:
Trey's mom also got into it, but she coincidentally made her Twitter account private today. She made a comment something along the lines about how at least Detroit appreciated them, and also responded to a fan saying that Trey should come to Detroit. His mom responded by saying the she would love that.

I forgot that Trey's dad had a couple of other responses on his wife's tweets. One simply said, "this is bulls***." The other actually took a shot at Quin accusing him of purposely not letting Trey shoot, and that he'd never seen a coach do that in his life. Yeah Benji, Quin has a personal agenda against your son, makes perfect sense. You know, the same coach that stated several times that Trey had the best pre-season out of anyone on the team. The entitlement is unreal with that family.

Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Burke,
Your son has suckdd for 2 years. If he could shoot 40% on his FG's and actually guard an old geezer like Blake, he MIGHT be a legit NBA PG. As it is, you should both be thankful Quin and Dennis are patient guys. However, I suggest you start looking at real estate in Europe. GM's generally look for guys who can shoot and MAKE baskets. Trey can do the former; it's the latter he has failed at for two straight seasons.

Maybe parents are Trey's real problem. Children who carry their supervision until late ages grow neurotically tired of their presence. But on the other side of things, I have been saying this for years. Burke will eventually end up in Detroit in some point of his career and play more motivated. You can tell that a player is not motivated in a club and will do better with a change of weather. With Neto and Exum, and Burke loosing too much unnecessary weight, he can be traded to anyone interested. I didn't like the waiving of Cotton at all.

Interesting. Yesterday, before the Philly game, the Jazz radio guys were talking about Trey's defense on Blake, and may have been talking about the Andy Larsen clip in particular. They said that the Jazz defense scheme was for the pg (trey) to channel or direct the opposing pg to one side of the floor. Trey could choose which side, but his positioning was key to showing his teammates which direction Trey was going to direct the pg. I believe it was Ron Boone who said that Trey was opening up too far, and clearing a straight line to the basket. Ron said, Trey should have not opened up his stance so much, but stand so that he could keep Blake on his hip or stay on his shoulder. It wasn't a big deal, rather a small adjustment. Just a step or few inches closer would have forced blake to take a side step, so that even if he got by Trey the Jazz help defense would be there.

I concluded that Trey was doing what the coaches asked him to do, but just not the way they asked him to do it. I wondered why it happened multiple times without a correction by the player or staff.

Treys parents should stay off of twitter, TV, the arena. They might feel like they are helping Trey, but they are only making life harder for him, and making themselves look bad. Trey is an exceptional human. He may not be Allan Iverson, he might not be a starter, heck, he might not even be in the league in 3 years, but he has achieved at a higher rate than the majority of his peers. That should be celebrated. No need to make excuses for him, be proud.

Pro-sports is weird. A guy makes millions of dollars, but the team has to hire a fleet of people to manage the guy, his posy, his helicopter parents and try to make sure all the local media, and every other bum with a screen and two fingers says nice things about the kid millionaire lest he feel 'disrespected'.

Dennis Lindsey, the highest paid baby sitter in Utah and still underpaid. I wouldn't want his job.

Damn, I hate to see this typa stuff.. So unnecessary.. STFU Benji..

Since Dennis Schroder is a hot topic here in Trey conversations, I'd like to remind folks that his father died a few summers back, and he's been on some man of the house typa mission ever since..

So to me this type of stuff does reflect poorly on Trey, I know the Trey damage control brigade will disagree. That's just how I feel, seems like possibly one of those "when theres smoke, there's fire" situations...

If I was in his shoes, I'd tell my parents to cut this **** out, his play on the court should speak for itself.

Benji,

You're making yourself look like a goddamn fool. Get off your son's nuts.

Rhonda,

We'd be very happy to send your son to Detroit (the team who DISSSRESPECTED him by passing him over in the draft). There are probably 8 players over there we'd rather have. Lots of options.

Just wow. How unprofessional of an agent (nonetheless being the player's father) to go out in public in such a classless manner. Some things are better kept indoors, this puts unnecessary pressure on everyone.
I wouldn't be surprised if Trey doesn't end the season in Utah.

Trey's parents are hilarious. The team should have a policy that if your parents make negative comments about the team, etc. then the player has pink backpack and donut duty for a week. At least his mom put her twitter to private. LOL.

Is his dad still his agent? I thought that was only for the draft. According to Draftexpress his agent is "Austin Brown", according to realgm his agent(s) are Leon Rose, Austin Brown, and Alfonso Burke III (isn't that Trey himself, I thought his dad was II?).

You might be right, still it sounds like he's been very involved in Trey's affairs with the team and he should be more cautious when throwing opinions out in the public imo.

I think his parents are overemotional. They strike me as the kind of people who probably yelled at refs in rec league games when Trey was 7 years old. Give those kind of people twitter and it's not a good outcome.

DL is likely touching bases with several teams every few weeks. I think trade talks will heat up around the first of the year as some teams decide they're out of playoff contention and decide to go with their young players and dump veterans.

I personally want Benji and Rhonda to keep doing what they are doing. Although I want Trey Burke to succeed at the highest level, I also want his parents to perform figurative Hara-Kiri on twitter. I want them to flame out, call out coaches and staffers by name. I want a big time flame out. So I'm very conflicted. And then the nudes. Somehow I want Rhonda to retweet that pic of her sons garbage and say, MY BOY GOT A BIG OL DICK, QUIN, LET HIM SWING IT. And then have Benji fave it. Come on, Burkses, do it for me.

That's a really vivid imagination and I fully support that. But leave Alec out of that mess!

I know what would make everyone happy -- trade Trey for Blake. We need a vet PG to hold down the fort until next year.
I wouldn't say that would make me happy. Indifferent maybe

I'm not a fan of Blake either, but it might be work out for this year, for the Jazz. Then we can either cut Blake or move him to another team.
