Kinda think they should be starting Burke and Burks.. Been on the fence about this since the lineups were announced. In game one - being on the bench seemed to have a negative effect on Trey....

I'm usually a proponent of 'strike while the iron is hot', seems like one of those typa deals. Plus I always said if Trey starts the first 20 games well, that could be worth a ton of wins - I'd give him a shot

I love it when guards steal other guards dribble straight out of their hands, and thats what Trey did to Monta last night, was one of my favorite plays in the game

I'm still here as well. I'm glad he had two good games in a row. But it'll take more than that to get me on board as him as a good back up.

But as said before, I want him to succeed as that is good for the Jazz. I just don't know if he will and I have been pretty critical of him.

Make me eat crow Burke. If you can.

This is the appropriate position for any doubter of Trey Burke ( or anything for that matter). The problem I have are with the obvious illogical hate for a guy who was 2 years into his pro career.

I'll admit it when I see it: absolutely great game from Trey. Maybe the best I can remember.

lol Burke was rock solid tonight. 15 pts 3 boards 3 dimes, and 2 steals. Please stop with the hater glasses. Hes not a great defender, but hes put us into position to win the last 2 games.

Stats don't tell the whole story. Did you read my post about point differential between Neto who scored 0 and Burke who scored 15. Neto was + 17, Burke + 4. The team plays much better with Neto, because he plays under control and distributes better. Trey often plays out of control, that is his personality, and that's when he's at his best, but it's not that way for the team. If there was a way to harness that and take advantage of that, and Burke could play like that while being cognizant of hitting the open man, then it might work. In other words, have Trey play with good 3-point shooters like Hood and Ingles so that he'd have options to kick out the ball to them.

Plus or minus on a one game basis isn't really a good stat to measure impact by a player. Especially considering Neto starts so most of his mins are with the better players.

The most important part of my post was the way they play, Neto in control and Trey out of control. This is what Trey needs to harness. I think it also is part of the reason he screws up on defense; because of his mercurial style on offense, he loses focus on defense. Neto is focused and under control, which is what you want from a point guard, from a quarterback, from an extension of the coach.

Hood had been our best wing so far this season. Neto has been stellar defensively, and at passing. Neither Burke or Burks has done anything to start over those guys so far. Hood and Neto compliment the starters while Trey and Alec don't, They are both far better suited as scoring options off of the bench.

We could have beaten the 76ers with Jimmer/nobody at PG. And Trey was horrible against Detroit. I missed the Indiana game but will say that it sounds like he had a great game. I hope he continues doing that. His shooting is not even what I care most about with Trey, though it's great when he shoots better than 45%. But his defense is a real problem, he can't stay in front of very many backup PG's in the NBA, let alone starters.

I appreciated Burke's shooting inside the 3pt line lately, it has come in times that we needed a bucket.

His defense was adequate, and he should get some credit. This team defense is absurdly good, and he is part of the team. I haven't noticed the breakdowns that get bigs into trouble the last couple of games, but in all honesty I haven't watched for it very closely.

I have noticed that Neto seems to play good defense and gets after it.

Not the thread for this, but just a few games in and it seems Hayward, Neto, Booker, Millsap are all having a hard time making buckets at a good rate. Mainly I just hope it's not a slow start for Hayward ala a few years ago.

Dala, I assume you will bump this when Burke starts another dumpster fire?

3 back-to-back games over 50% from the field, first time in his career.

If you remove his two half court heaves Trey numbers are 53%fg 40%3pt 100%ft. It's four games in, but that's damn good.

Did his hobag of a mother make any childish tweets last night about how the world, and white people especially, hate Trey?

How's his defence and basketball smarts and overall court impact going ?

All much more improved. He did well guarding Lillard the few chances he got. Lillard was just in a zone. Burke defensive improvements to me overshadows his offensives improvements. Plus he is making some great passes, guys just aren't making shots which you expect will get better.

Hobag
I forgot about that one. We should bring it back

No doubt. Trey Burke's steal which led to a clear path, and his three-pointer which extended Jazz lead to 4 were also a lot bigger than what they'd appear on the box score. Booker has been pretty meh early on, but tonight he did exactly what I'd love to see every game.

What a fantastic, gut-check win for the Jazz. Kudos to Trey Burke who gets the game ball in my opinion. He made several big time plays tonight.

How in the hell is it that Burke finally found his shot and everyone else lost theirs?

If you are currently singling out and criticizing the play of Trey Burke, you have serious issues.

He broke his >50% FG streak but still got 12 points on 12 shots (made good plays down the stretch)
