I love how all you guys were so fair to Deron and believed him about his crap about not wanting to be dealt but it's clear now that it's his fault and pushover management as to why we lost Sloan.

I think some of you owe TroutBum a bunch of positive reputation for this, dude wasn't being naive about it like some of you. D-Will along with management destroyed this team. Can't blame Boozer now, Sloan loved Boozer by the way. I'm kind of upset that we just lost the best PG in the NBA but after what he did with Sloan I really couldn't find myself liking him anymore. It's like being a Dodgers fan with Manny getting caught with female fertility drugs, I cheer for the guy but don't like him. Now I don't have to cheer for him anymore.

I told you guys not re-signing Boozer was franchise suicide.

Me being right all the time is the only satisfaction I get this season, and I wish I wasn't right.
 
Sloan was the one that quit the team in it's most trying hour. he quit. the legendary Sloan is a quitter. and he timed it perfectly such that Deron was the one thrown under the bus. management was left to pick up the pieces.
 
Fair enough. My take: Sharon Williams will win none of the championships, and I'm glad Jazz management nipped this **** in the bud.

More like it, that post really warms my heart too.

As for the other posters in this thread, it looks like they still have Deron's back much like the Boozer haters...THEY NEVER CHANGE.
 
I'm not a Boozer hater, dude. I liked him, just thought he was injury prone. Haven't liked Sloan in years, though.
 
Not re-signing Carlos was not a mistake at all. He lacked any sort of leadership, was/is injury prone, does not know the word "defense" and obviously cannot play any of it. He is heck of an offensive player and overally was successful as a Jazz player. the fit of his skillset and the system of coach Sloan was responsible for his success in Utah, which helped him get a fat contract, which I do not think the Jazz should have offered. Too much money and too many years for a player like Carlos. BigAl and Paul have played only half a season together and there is still room for improvement. They have the capability to play aggressive and effective defense and to score in bunches. Too early to compare either of the two to Boozer.

I will agree with you on the other things you discussed above, if Deron really gets traded to NJN. As a big fan of him and his game, I just had a hard time believing that he pushed coach Sloan out, or he did not believe in the system and made the transition process extremely difficult for coaching staff by constantly arguing. I still have some doubts about it. What I will know for sure is that he has no guts, does not have what it takes to compete, win it all. He is the unquestionable leader of the team and he cannot leave the franchise that invested in him this way. Yeah, we will get some "assets", some "draft picks" but you cannot compare them to what the Jazz lose by this trade. I will be greatly disappointed with him and lose my respect for him.

The only one who could stop these trade "ideas" or "rumors" created by media after the end of 'Melodrama was/still is Deron. He just could say "I'm staying in Utah" if he really is dedicated to the Jazz. apparently, he is not.
 
I am starting to appreciate LHM more. I believe he would have kept this team together. It is hard to get behind a team when the players are constantly shifting around. I'll still be a DWill fan, but NJ is going to suck with or without him.
 
I find it hard to deny that the offseason caused this.

This board hates Boozer. OK. Fine.

But the mistake is in underestimating his value. The rebounding was awful -- just as I predicted, and many bawked at -- and the offense? Wow. I knew that the Jazz offense couldn't work without a replacement and, unfortunately, Al Jefferson is best as a lotto team's stat-padder; his floor reads are atrocious, and his post offense doesn't, then, translate to team facilitation out of the post. Utah needed that. They had that with Booz.

Most stunning was the unraveling of the myth that Deron was a leader. That Barkley interview from last year called it: Deron could not handle the pressure without Boozer.

Boozer was the leader of those teams, at least on the court. And no, I don't think Sloan's gone, or DWill is, if Boozer is re-signed.

Do I feel like the DWill apologists have been punk'd? Yes and no. Certainly I feel the Boozer haters have.

But the question now is, whether we all have. Management appears to have royally ****ed this team up.

I can't believe that my worst nightmare came true: da schmata, the vaginal itch ad himself, Kirilenko, outlasted the franchise legend and its future.

****ing awful.
