Repair idea for Hayward

Like it was two seasons ago, Hayward is having a hard time getting his game on track. We need to do something different so we don't have an entire season wasted with him playing like trash with his fragile ego/confidence. We need to think outside the box...

Bring Hayward off the bench. Hopefully, playing against the other teams scrubs will make it easier for him to get his confidence back. He can still play a valuable role to the team coming off the bench.

Start Burks, Hayward comes in with the 2nd unit.

At least do this until he gains his confidence back and starts playing like he deserves to be a starter.

The most obvious answer is start Trey Burke so Hayward has another shooter to space the floor or make a play.

Raul Neto is seriously trash. It's like watching a Dante Exum who is just an average defender and small.

Really? Hayward plays with Hood at the point (triple wing offense) during the game and it doesn't make much of a difference.
And if Hayward would do so much better alongside Burke, think of the damage he could do against the other teams second units.

I don't think Hood is the spot-up threat that you imagine he is.

Mentally weak and poor leadership?

Jesus Christ, what is going on here.

After his breakout season, I expected him to carry the team and to be the Jazz franchise player but he is struggling early in the season unexpectedly.

He often disappears in the 4th quarter and misses free throws down the stretch.

Last season he hit a couple of buzzer-beating game-winners and after that he always played hero-ball down the stretch but he failed most of times. He should not be the focal point of the offense.

Burks, Hood, and Favors all took more shots than him tonight. And in the former two's case, Hayward was drawing a lot of defensive attention away from them.

Burks and Hood don't have the games they do if they receive the same attention from the defense that Hayward did.

You might be right about Hayward taking allot of attention away from hood and Burks but I disagree when you say that Burks and hood don't have the games they do without Hayward.

Burks and hood are both very good at getting their shots off and making tough shots against any and all defenders.

I have seen them both go up against multiple waves of defenders and still score many times.

A few years ago Hayward was hurt and missed like 7 games and Burks played some of his best basketball during those games

How can you say that when we've never seen a defensive game plan geared towards stopping them like we have with Hayward.

So you think when Hayward is on the bench resting or missing the game with an injury that the other team is still focusing on stopping him? I find that hard to believe.

I'm certain that Burks and hood (both very good scorers) would still be able to score without Hayward out there to hold their hand.

I wonder if there were thunder fans that said that harden was only a good scorer because defenses were focusing on durant and Westbrook.
