What's new

The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

From a PR stand point I think this takes big cajones by KOC cause the feeling I get is more people still loved DWill then hated him and they could've just stood pat and if DWill left let him be the bad guy now the pressure is all on KOC and the Jazz FO.

Dwill is the antichrist to the Jazz organization. He ran off our coach and now this, we should have drafted the nice one chris paul, dwill is a douche!

So now instead of a log-jam of mediocre wing players we have a log-jam of mediocre 4's? Great.

I might be wrong, but isn't Devin Harris the one that got busted for smoking pot and was soon after traded by Dallas to the Nets?

I am also left thinking about the loomng CBA and left thinking the NBA has obviously come more about money and entertainment then sport. Yes sports are a form of entertainment but there is a difference mainly in the form of competative balance and it seems the NBA could careless about that and just about the bottom dollar and trying to keep up with the NFL and becoming something it may not be.
I don't expect players to say pay me less but I would hope business management people in charge would know what the NBA is and it's limits and not expand beyond what it is and try to be something it's not. To use a sports analogy it's like Pippen (or any other star thinking or wanting to be a superstar) wanting to be the man for Chicago saying he can carry and do it without MJ.
I can't think of any specific business examples but I know there is some that the owners know they can only expand and increase revenue so much without effecting their long term viability and the oversaturation of their market overall.

Is there really that much difference? If you add players we got to Cleveland/Toronto, they are still going to stink. Just like us.

big difference. Cleveland & Toronto got nothing in exchange. Jazz get Favors, Harris and 2 lotto picks. Jazz downgrade but not nearly as bad as those other teams did and have more pieces to re-build faster.

On the contrary, we just became one...

Don't get me wrong I'm not exactly happy on this trade but how about some constructive whinning or bitching?

How could the Jazz have avoided becoming the Cavs? If they waited until this summer they have to see how the CBA plays out and they have to hope DWill still wants to stay and excepts a extension. On top of it if he excersized his player option he would likely make 2x as much as the new max contracts would be so eating up close to what amounts to 2 max players.
The only thing the Jazz could do to keep DWill happy according to his words in the media was make the Jazz a contender and even then how did that work out for the Cavs? The Jazz took control of the situation for better or worse.

As I said, add players we just got to Cleveland, and they are still horrible. The value we got is negligible compared to having a superstar. We did not have to lose Deron at all.

What gamble? NJ did not gamble anything. This rape is as one sided as they come. With Deron and Lopez, plus CAP room and a billionaire owner, moving to NY, and having all picks after this year, Nets are on great shape. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Jazz.

What is it with Jazzfanz's obsessions over seven footers? If they're seven feet then people seem to view them as the missing piece. I'd take Al over Thabeet and Lopez any day.
