New juicy rumor: Jazz headed to Seattle

Take this all with a grain of salt. I'm not saying my source has any more credibility than that Jazz dancer that Trout's been hanging out with. I'm just relaying the info that I have.

My friend is friends with someone in the 100 Club. They've been in Maui the past few days (the whole 100 Club gets to go) and my friend is along on the trip with them. Got a text today that the rumors circulating throughout the 100 Club while on vacation are that the Jazz are headed to Seattle either this offseason or the next.

I'm trying to get more deets right now. But again, take this all with a grain of salt. Rich people are very gossipy.

And habitually drunk. Especially in Maui.

How are the Jazz going to play in a city without an NBA arena? Are they going to magically build one in the next few months? Even if the Jazz were sold, it would make no sense to move the team from a profitable city/arena before there were a profitable arena ready in Seattle.

I really hope not, as I live in Utah. But Seattle is a pretty awesome city.

There is no way this team will move. The Jazz have a strong fanbase.

I am not so sure. You should of heard Greg Miller talking at the press conference. He was talking about how it is bad for all the stars to go to a few teams, and how it is hard to get sponsorships without them. I think he is concerned about the future of small markets in the league.

This would be a gutsy move by the Millers. Their entire LHM organization would take a huge publicity hit. I think their all their businesses would struggle locally due to the fallout. But...having $300+ million in your pocket makes it easy to laugh at the haters.

I listened to it, and I thought the opposite. He talked about the Jazz still being competitive, and how he was willing to go into the luxury, which showed his dedication.

Huh? Couldn't they just renovate the Key Arena?

I disagree, from a business point of view I think he kind of stuck doing it. If they totally blew up the team for cap space, they would lose a ton of ticket sales next year. He has to appear to at least try to be competitive.

I'm sure the Maloofs will try to get the CBA to agree to allowing a Vegas team. I could see the Jazz going there.

People would get over it like they do everything else.
