Following 2016 potential draftees

MKG not only had a broken shot but was completely inept on offense and still went #2 behind only the best draft pick in about the last ten years.

Simmons is so obviously #1 it's ridiculous.

MKG is the perfect example of why I'm a little apprehensive about picking someone that high who isn't comfortable shooting the basketball.

Dude, you are the guy who wanted to draft Julius Randle to be a SF.

Simmons doesn't have a broken shot like MKG.

Guess what? Draymond Green never shot a 3 pointer his entire Freshman year and only shot like 14-18 3's his Sophomore season.

Tyler Ulis needs to shoot it better from 3 to get drafted in the first. 21% isn't enough to cut the mustard. The whole argument of "he can do it all, he's just 5'9" doesn't really apply if his 3pt shooting is going to be questionable.

If Marcus Lee continues to shoot FT's at this rate he's not going to get drafted in the 1st round. He said he was going to shoot 80% this year, I like the confidence - you've gotta be able to back that up though. 5/14 thus far.

Isaiah Briscoe's shooting is off to a slow start too 2/8 from 3 and 5/15 from the line.. Worth keeping an eye on. I really like how he looks on offense though, he's quite savvy for a Frosh.

Charles Matthews FT shooting looks like it might be a bit of an adventure too.. 2/6 to start. I can't help but think how this team would look with Dwayne Bacon insted of Matthews, Bacon's listed at 6'7" and he's 8/17 from 3 so far(47%). I say Bacon would've won the starting SF spot easily.

Skal sets up shop in the paint, I love it. he appears much more comfortable with the ball than the previous UK bigs, in that range of 5-12 feet from the basket.

Poythress appears to be exactly what many though he was. Solidly in the 2nd rd.

Derek Willis, I think will end up in the NBA, doesn't seem like as limited as an athlete as when he first showed up. Tried to take it coast to ooast last night, it didn't work, was still kinda impressive though.

I still really like what I see from this team though, I don't how many squads are even going to be able to test them. I think they'll react well to adversity too, maybe it takes them a minut or 2, they wake up though. When the **** hits the fan, you can give the ball to Skal, you can give it to Jamal Murray or Briscoe and they can force the action. Ulis will always have his composure, they have many options.

@Texas A&M on February 20th might end up their biggest test (by no fault of their own). AKA UK's going to cruise..

Very solid comeback from MU vs ASU last night.

Luke Fischer with another solid showing. Ellenson was great.

Haanif Cheatham is an interesting prospect, top-100 player I've mentioned him a few times. He's a bit of a jack of all trades, if he can shoot and pass(which he can), and continue to get better at it, he's an interesting prospect moving forward.

- Bad wire-to-wire loss for OSU to LA Tech. They have an eligibility issue too. With a should be freshman, Mickey Mitchell who's like already turned 20 months back.. He was once very highly rated, long ago, and has multiple mixtapes on youtube with near 1,000,000 views.

- Pascal Siakam with 35 and 13 on 13/18 shooting. He's go 2 WAC player of the week awards to start the season, looks on the way to a 3rd..

- 21-8-4 for Louisvilles Damion Lee. 6'10" Freshman Raymond Spaulding with 30-15- 4blk-4stls in his last 2 games. Donovann Mitchell with a solid showing as well.

- Cat Barber with 20-7-7 and 12/12 from the charity stripe, in a victory vs LSU.

- Wade Baldwin IV from Vanderbilt is a baller!! Would love to see him on the Jazz next year.

-More of the same from Buddy Hield, he makes it look like an easy day in the office.

Washington and Gonzaga(-10) at Noon ET start the games today. Washington is a sleeper, because of their freshman, I knew that'd be the case the second Noah Disckerson de-committed from Florida, and went to UW. Keep an eye on Dejounte Murray too. He can fill it up.

Indiana v UNLV @ 5 will be lit.

Texas v. Texas A&M should be a good measuring stick for both teams.

UConn vs Michigan @ 9:30 should be good. Plenty of prospects to watch.

Game of the day is clearly #5 Kansas v #19 Vanderbilt

KU and Vandy should be a dandy. Ugh.
Anyway, I have Vandy by 3.

I actually think KU will wax them, obviously they have a few players that are feast-or-famine so their not the easiest team to call. If Wayne Selden plays like he has been (13/23 from 3!!) I definitely like Kansas.

I had KU as the #2 team in the country pre-season, behind UK though. Of course Diallo was factored into that.

If Vandy's going to win Wade Baldwin will need to do plenty of the heavy lifting, and he's certainly capable vs Mason.

Wouldn't be surprised if Devonte Graham gets loose either, I think this is a potential good matchup for him, I don't know who on Vandy can keep him out of the lane.

catching the replay of NM St and Robert Morris. Tanveer Bhullar isn't listed in Dx's top 93 Sophomores. I kinda like him better than his older bro Sim though. Not sure if he's as massive, doesn't seem to be as lumbering. He's certainly not far off from his listed 7'3" and 335lb height and weight. He can pass the ball too.

This Sophomore from Cameroon, Pascal Siakam is really, at the very least, a damn good college player. I bet he's going to pick up some hype by the end of the season. He's not just long and athletic, he's got some footwork and some touch around the basket. Interesting prospect, He has 21points in the first 24 minutes of this game. He's trying for steals on the perimeter and ****. He was obviously a hell of a pull for NM State, he could easily play for a high-major.

Nice work getting the ESPN ticker into this post.

"Anyone that doesn't have Simmons No. 1 [on their draft board] should be fired," one longtime GM with a great draft track record told ESPN on Monday.

Fifty-one NBA scouts and execs attended Simmons' game in Brooklyn on Monday in which he had 21 points, 20 rebounds and seven assists.

"You don't find players his size, with his elite athletic ability that see the game the way he sees the game," one GM said. "He's unselfish to a fault. He's always trying to make the right play. And he's just scratching the surface. Look at how the other freshmen are faring right now. It takes a while to adjust. What does his box score start looking like when he adjusts?"

The main concern with Simmons is his jumper and whether that may make a team pass on him at No. 1 was asked.

"Not a chance," one GM said. "He does everything else well. He's not a bad shooter. It won't stop anyone from taking him No. 1."

Skal Labissiere, Dragan Bender and Jaylen Brown could all compete for the No. 1 spot.

"Towns, Mudiay and Porzingis were always in the mix last year," one GM said. "There was plenty of debate. There just isn't any real debate with my scouts about Simmons right now. He's way ahead of those guys. He's going to have to struggle and those guys are going to have to get a lot better."

So Kyle Wiltjer isn't even projected to be drafted by DX. He would be an interesting 2nd round pick for the Jazz.
