....although this was an act of "terror", in the strictest sense of the word, it was not the result of a "holy Jihad" in which the perpetrator was acting on a religious "belief" that all individuals NOT Muslim are "infidels" and thus need to be eliminated, true or false?
In fairness, we do not know this man's motives. I believe it's safe to say that that is true, it was not part of a jihad against non Muslims. Far more likely to be related to the pro life/ pro choice conflict.
Nonetheless, I am willing to believe this individual, in his own mind, felt that his God, the God of his faith, approved of killing pro choice people. And since terrorists acting in the name of Allah feel justified by their faith in killing infidels, and some people who are pro life feel justified in killing people, if they are both acting because they believe this is what their God expects of them, then there's not much to chose between the two.
But, I am jumping the gun in assuming this was a pro life advocate come unhinged. I have no evidence that my assumptions have any basis in reality. For all I know, he was completely insane and following the instructions of voices in his head. Natural to assume it might be related to pro life/pro choice, but we don't know much about this guy just yet. He exchanged gunfire with the police. For all I know, the venue was coincidental. But suffice to say I'm talking off the top of my head here. Seldom the best foundation for an argument one way or the other.
If he was acting on a "religious belief" that pro choice people need to be eliminated, then, like terrorists from ISIS attacking innocent Parisians, there might be a similar dynamic at work beneath the surface....
