RUSH Game Thread - Orlando @ Jazz - 12/3/15 7 PM MST

So Hayward has one of his best 1st quarters ever, and then makes 1 fg in the 2nd half. Anyone care to explain how that happens?

Favors taking only 7 shots is another strange thing.

I think it is time for Snyder to establish clear offensive hierarchies.

It's all in his head, something's wrong with him this season. Has anyone seen one of his blocks from behind this season? The kind that got everyone fired up? He's putting up the numbers because he oozes talent, but he ain't the same in other aspects... That's my theory at least.

It would have been nice if the refs didn't let guys tackle him. Neto needs to be done it's not his shooting that hurts us most it's his creation abilities too... He handles the ball in so many possessions and ends up shooting a shot that looks like something I'd throw up if I was on the court with nba players. His defense is average but not great like dantes was.

Anyway I think Neto was part of the problem for Hayward, but he does need to be more assertive at times.

Also I'm pretty sure hood is playing through an injury. Shots didn't fall but he wasn't moving well.

What a pathetic second half. Especially the 4th. This team needs one more scorer in the worst way.

I would like to say that I am on the Withey train while Gobert is injured. He seems to know what he is supposed to be doing in his role and he has the length to be somewhat effective. And he doesn't look useless on offense either.

Got 10 minutes tonight and was +3. But that doesn't mean ****.

I don't know if Quinn likes him or if he does stuff out there that bothers him. Seems to have a short leash and there was a quote that led me to think he wasn't going to play much... Basically said we will go with lyles booker or go small but we aren't going bigger. I like what withey does. Thought he should have started tonight and matched up on vuvevic.

I would have preferred more Withey and a little more Burks. If Hood isn't hitting his 3's he needs to have his leash shortened considerably. Quin's done that successfully with Trey i think it's time with Rodney.

And totally for a more established heirarchy of shots, Hayward and Favors should have a lot more attempts in the second half. I'd really like Hayward to be more selfish and assertive, he's got the skills to really be the alpha leader, the way he was in the 4th against the Clippers would really help the team's confidence.

So Hood's shot continues to suck ***...

He's been the biggest letdown for me this season.

He had 3 rebounds, 3 blocks and 4 points on 3 shots in 10 minutes tonight. From a purely statistical point of view that is a fantastic ten minute stretch from him.

You should keep grinding that axe for whatever reason that nobody understands.

I had high hopes for Hood this season as well, but instead he's shooting the ball like 2014 Trey Burke or 2013 Gordon Hayward. Very disappointed.

The game was a gallon of salt into the open Gobert wounds we all have. I didnt like the energy or focus in the 2nd half. It started out ok. We build a little lead, and then
started commiting a string of slopply turnovers. The Magic were sound on defense, and just waited for us to make a mistake.

We need a change. I was feeling optomistic before the game, now...not so much. We dont need to clean house. I just think we need to make a trade. We need some fresh
blood in here.

But if you listen to the post-game interviews, guarantee 9 times out of 10 Hayward/Burke/whoever will say something like "we needed to come out with more energy to start/close the game"

Postgame Hayward: "Didn't like the effort tonight"

Quin: "Wasn't the kind of effort to win a game like this"

Quin: "We didn't have the energy at the start of the game"

Quin: "I don't think we had that energy and focus at the start of the game and I don't think we had it in the 3rd quarter either."

I really don't agree with that assessment from Quinn about the start of the game -- Simply because of how hot Hayward was...

I can see why he said it, because he's hoping for a more collective effort and send a message to the starters that were slacking..

They scored 57 in the first half and 37 in the second half though.. Blaming the start almost seems like deflecting blame from how they closed the game in a malaise. This game was there for the taking - especially in the first half it seemed like Orlando was just going thru the motions.

So 6 minutes and 2 points for Aar Gordon? His shooting percentages are sub-par, as expected..

Is it safe to say he's worse than Julius Randle at this point?? who dropped 15 and 19 boards the other night and is a .7 rebounds per game away from averaging a double-double..

I had Vonleh higher, and I still don't hate that, he's still catching up to speed. The folks who had Randle above Aar Gordon were few and far between on this site though... Thought it was worth pointing out. @seattlejazzfan appears to be right.
