What's new

RUSH Game Thread - Orlando @ Jazz - 12/3/15 7 PM MST

Say what you will, but I think Hayward could be hurting the chemistry in this team a little. Anyone else who senses this?

I meant in general. They shot well in the first half, less well in the second half especially in the 4th quarter.

Right but they took mostly jumpshots tonight and still ended up with a TS% that is above every team's average that isn't Golden State.

Turnovers and bad defense destroyed them.

This is the second game in a row that Hayward has been on fire to start the game and then we just completely go away from him in the second half (correct me if i'm wrong).

Is it the other team adjusting? Do we feel bad for using the same move over and over (so to speak)? Is Gordon deferring later in games?

Whatever it is, we need to ride the hot hand until it's cool.

God if there is anyway we could get Ben Simmons...

I'm thinking Favors would be an elite 3rd big.

bizarre ....

No really, a leader's job isn't only scoring the most points in a team, he must show up in other aspects. Like when the team is down he must show charisma and a will to win. Honestly, do you see that from Haygod? He's been out this season for some reason, taking out a few good games here and there, when it's a special game. This is a long season and you have to grind, or not so spectacular teams will give you a hit like what happened tonight.

What a joke they couldn't get the ball in virtually twice in a row.

I have noticed this problem allot in many games so far.
What is really frustrating is that they seem to decide ahead of time who they are going to inbound the ball to no matter who gets open or what the defense does.

Both times that they had issues tonight (and many times when they had issues in other games) I saw a jazz player break away and be wide open for the inbound but that player would not even look to receive the pass and the inbounder would not even look his way. Just get the damn ball in to the open guy for gods sake.

It seems the Jazz were speculating they could win this one without big effort. The Magic were playing really bad, they woke up the last 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter and the 4th...Jazz offense stuck and they took the lead down the stretch. Classic example of a game that has to be closed already in the third quarter.

This. obviously

Maybe its just the homer in me but i think burks should be getting more minutes. He is averaging 28 minutes per game currently (same as corbins last year.... down from 33 minutes per game last year), and Hood is averaging 30 minutes per game. (favors is at 31 and hayward is at 35 fwiw)

What do you all think?

It seems there is competition in the team for who is the best player, face of the franchise and so on...

Probably Hayward wants to be the man and the first offensive option. He always seemed to me a selfish player.

I won't be surprised if he cares more about his haircut rather than winning games! I'm joking :D

We will miss Gobert badly.

Hard to argue against really.

I wouldn't be against Burks starting.

Hood played with overconfidence lately, forcing shots.

Snyder always gave him lot of confidence but maybe now he has to change approach, for example starting Burks.

But Hood offense is an important key for the Jazz to win games.

It's like we've talked about before, when you don't start, you don't play as many minutes. It doesn't have to be that way, but the manner in which many coaches work their rotations - and QS is one of them - it's the reality. It's a shame, really.

If the aim is to win more games. Yes.

They seem more concerned about getting certain players reps though. Starting spots certainly don't seem to be performance based, or else how could Neto and Hood keep getting a pass??

It's hard for me to buy into this team urgently trying to make the playoffs with the current rotations. Neto and Hood minus a passable 3pt % is very gimmicky.

Its like they almost don't want to give themselves a chance to score 30 in the 1st.

It's almost like their tankin - not for a top pick but to ensure a decent one..

Is this a joke? Hayward needs to be more selfish if anything. I mean I would actually use the word aggressive but it amounts the pretty much the same thing.
