Official Draft Thread

Defense wasn't Almond's singular undoing. If it was anything, it's that he was a complete black hole and had a tough time even getting a shot off in the NBA.

Ok, I've finally finished my draft board.

If the Jazz stay at #9...
Udoh
George
Davis
Aminu

Also hoping the Jazz can pick up an additional selection in the late teens/early-20's. Brackins or Orton would be a nice pick, or a guy like Jones if the Jazz got a later pick.

As for the #55, heck why not take a flyer on Zoubek. He's a rebounding machine. He may even turn into a better pro than Aldrich. No way does Cole get that ugly shot off in the NBA. Then sign Elijah Millsap after the draft.

Wow...Less than 24 hours from now we'll know who we picked! (unless we trade out of the first round).. I can't believe its almost here. At this point, if we stay put at the 9, I'll be thrilled with Babbitt, Davis, or Hayward...Disappointed but still cautiously optimistic with Aldrich, Udoh, George...Suicidal with Monroe

Assuming reverse psychology??

The Jazz could make Monroe a 15/9/1 player. Definitely a contributor. I don't think we'll have to worry though because GS or Det will probably take him.

Funny to think how cheap we gave the guy up and they're getting #10th with him prolly.

I'm really hoping we get babbitt. Please no cousins or Monroe.

I'd feel a little bad for the kid. Getting trade twice before you start your second year has to be tough.

Chad Ford 7.0

1. Wizards - John Wall

2. Sixers - Evan Turner

3. Nets - Derrick Favors

4. Wolves - Wes Johnson

5. Kings - DeMarcus Cousins

6. Warriors - Ekpe Udoh

7. Pistons - Greg Monroe

8. Clippers - Al-Farouq Aminu

9. Jazz - Ed Davis

10. Pacers - Paul George

Maynor got picked in the 20s and could be traded for a #10 pick. It's a compliment if anything.

BTW - it looks like the Thunder took Miami's #18 pick for basically nothing. This is the big leagues people. GMs win championships.

And cheap ******** like Greg Miller are quick to take your money, but don't want to DO WHAT IT TAKES to build a contender. If all Utah does this season is draft at #9 and let Boozer and AK's contracts expire for nothing in return, I'm done. I'll NEVER become a Lakers fan, but I'll mail all my Jazz shirts, shorts, etc to Greg and tell him I can no longer support the Jazz until they're sold to a different ownership group.

All I really want to see from KOC is the determination to get the guy he wants in the right spot. If that means moving up a little, he has to be aggressive. If the guy he wants is Henry/George/Babbit, he should trade down. No reaches and no settles. The pick is too valuable to do that.

I think the only teams calling the Jazz to inquire about the #9 pick are teams who are worried about missing out on Udoh, Aldrich, Henry, Babbit or George. I'm not sure who those teams are. Maybe Ed Davis is still there at #9. I don't see the Jazz trading down, because I'm not sure how many teams want to trade up to #9. Ed Davis and Paul George are good picks at #9 if the Jazz stand pat. Henry and Babbit are reasonable more or less, and would at least be rotation players on the Jazz.

Get a hold of yourself. I'm sure Greg would just be devastated if you send him your Jazz apparel with your little hate note.

Even if the Jazz keep Boozer AND draft the pick at 9(someone like say Ed Davis), that still doesnt make them a contender. It barely improves them. If they draft at 9 and let go of Booz though, that only makes them much worse. Jazz are 2 solid moves away, apart from a #9 pick,to contend.
