I would agree not all drafts are created equal and the consensus about the 2013 draft was that it was a down year. However even then the #9 pick of course you hope to land a star but odds are if you get an average starter from that spot you should be happy:

I could go back further but why, most of us wouldn't know or recognize the majority of the players.
As far as the OP. I think if you wouldn't state things so much as a fact and extremes you'd get a lot of agreement with your post. First 'garbage' that is WAY to extreme and an over statement. He's a playing well and playing like a good back up with potential to grow, of course he could regress as well, he's only a 3rd year PG.
Of course almost all if not all fans believe Exum is the starter when he gets back and he is the hope for the future at PG, if the Jazz want to get where we all hope they can get. So most fans understand that after his rookie contract is up he may not want to stay on as a backup PG and there is nothing wrong with that but that doesn't change the fact that finding a better back up wont be easy or cheaper. So to just disregard him is just ignorant or misguided possibly by so much angst and other negative feelings directed towards him for so long. Just take a step back from all that emotion and see things for what they are.
I personally hope coach Snyder is grooming him to be comfortable in that back up PG role and so he excepts it and is willing to stay after his rookie contract, although I seriously doubt he would want to as he understandably will want to see if he can get an increased role somewhere else. But who knows maybe the Jazz will show so much potential he will have a hard time leaving that for a team that will give him more minutes at the price of winning.
