Stockton ranked 3rd!

Cant't really argue with that though. He was not the best PG ever. But he is top 3 IMO.
 
I love Stockton but it's hard to really argue that he deserves to be ahead of either Magic or Oscar. And maybe not even Curry now.
 
Curry top 5 is somewhat ridiculous, only 2 All Stars and only one 1 MVP/Champions...let him build a full career before he's ranked that high all time imo..

ESPN ranked the Top 10 PGs of all time & they have @iamisiahthomas ranked 5th. There's no way Stockton & Curry are better than Isiah.
 
I thought the list was pretty decent. Wouldn't put Curry that high yet (only played half as many minutes as Nash and 1/3 of Stockton, but I expect him to wind up even higher than he was put). Personally have no idea where to rank Cousy, so no idea there. But HM to Payton/Billups/KJ in no order.

Curry is the best point guard ever. He is close to being the best player ever.

It so laughable that anyone would think Stockton is or was better than Curry. It's seriously not even close. Curry would smoke Stockton.

It's so dumb to try and argue that because Stockton racked up so many steals over a very long career in which he missed very few games, that he was better at the game or winning. Curry already has achieved the ultimate prize. Something Stockton couldn't do. Curry dominates the game.

The sum of a players career doesn't define their ability to win a game. Jason Terry has more career points than Kevin Durant. Would it make any ****ing sense at all to claim Jason Terry was a better than Kevin Durant? No it wouldn't.

I don't hate Stockton. I love him. I'm a big fan, but you have to be retarded to think he's better than Curry.

Curry is a better player right now than LeBron James in the prime of his career. Was Stockton better than LeBron?

You forgot Stockton having more assists than God. And his D. You have to look at everything when looking for who is best. not just one or two cherry picked areas.

Right now I think Stockton was a better all time PG than Curry based on everything. I also think that when it is all over Curry will quite possible go down as the best PG AND shooter ever.

Did you ever read the post? Do you even know why Stockton had all those assists?Do you even know what an assist is? Do you even know what assist means? You can get buckets without assists. You can't get assists without buckets. You can't spell assistant without assists. That's what John was, the assistant. He was helping a player who was better than him(Malone), who wasn't better than Lebron, who Curry is better than. So if Curry is better than LeBron, but Lebron is better than Malone, and Stockton was Malone's assistant, how would it make any sense at all to say Stockton is better than Curry?

Same old arguments about peak versus body of work and skill versus accomplishment.

Even if everyone agreed on the criteria, the "better" player is rather subjective. It would depend on which criteria you value most, and the context in which they played (as you see it), along with other non-quantifiable factors.

I do think that if Curry has 1-2 more season like this one I will place him 2nd all time instead of 5th. Another 5-6 seasons like this and I will probably place him 1st lol.

You are right that different people value different things more or less. But I think that all of it has a role to play.
