NFL 2015 Season Discussion Thread

My old landlord in San Diego played a few season in the NFL and has stuck around as mentor for some younger players on the Chargers. I hung out with them on several occasions. I asked them about Spygate and they all just laughed and shrugged it off. Every single one of them said that as far as they know, that **** had always been happening. Most hypothesize that it was just Eric Mangini (a former assistant of Belichick) losing his cool and trying to bitch slap the master.

The Patriots weren't doing anything that the other organizations weren't also doing. There was just a bitch with hurt feelings.

And, Brady didn't do anything. So, yeah.

Every NFL player (15-20 of them) that I have talked to have told me that other teams were doing it to a much lesser extent and had some unspoken lines not to cross and the patriots crossed that line by a lot and bugged lots of other coaches. They took it too far and were clearly cheating.

Facts still are that Manning has better stats in every way possible in his NFL career. Manning has beaten Brady 3-2 in head to head playoff games and Brady did not win after the spygate scandal came to light and they stopped until the deflategate year. Say what you want about them stopping for the super bowl but it got them there and it definitely helped that team. They set historic records all of a sudden for fumbles.

The only thing Brady has that is better than Manning is Super Bowl wins but those all need an asterisks next to them.

Manning took a low talent Colts team with a poor line, poor defense and poor running game to the super bowl and won it. Brady took teams with great defense and great talent to the super bowl.

LOL. You're a complete moran here. One, I'm not a Patriots fan. I'm an Eagles fan. Having said that, there is no evidence he cheated vs. them, the Eagles. Regarding Deflategate, after halftime when the "cheating" was caught and the refs gave the Pats properly inflated balls, the Pats absolutely annhilated the Colts. Worse than they had in the first half when their "cheating" took place. Three, even if we take away the Super Bowl vs the Rams from which there was evidence of cheating and last year's win since Deflategate (which the Pats didn't even need to destroy the Colts) led to a Super Bowl win, Brady is still 2-2 in Super Bowls which is better than Manning's 1-2.

So your whole argument is that he has more Super Bowl wins? That is a weak argument, there is a lot more that goes into winning than 1 player. I need more than that. When did the scandal about spygate come out? thats when they stopped taping and thats when they stopped winning. Manning is 3-2 in head to head matches and beats Brady in every applicable statistic to QBs.

I didnt assume you were a Pats fan just said you were skewed. But being a Phili fan doesnt help your argument much.

for some reason the bolded part of your post was the first part that I read; and after that I knew that I didn't need to read a gawddamn word beyond those. That's the stupidest **** I've read on this board by a non-alt. Gonna be hard to read anything you write in the future, tbh.

Get well soon, braugh.

Thanks, this really makes my side legit. Case closed.

Patriots fans react to the name "Peyton Manning" the same way dogs reacts to a dog whistle.

All composure leaves them and they just go insane.

It's hard for all the patriot fans, who jumped aboard a winning train, to have to lose in the playoffs. Especially against a Manning team that they guaranteed they would beat. Sorry for your loss and rough fandom. But maybe you can start cheering for Carolina they look to be on the up with a good thing qb.

By the end of that game, NE was without the 6 or 7 best players not named Tom Brady. I didn't even know who half the guys on the field were. There isn't an argument about who was more dinged up in that game. And NE had zero time to adjust to the injuries.
What was the excuse this time?

Two things.

Brady won lots and lots between spygate and deflategate.

Manning colts team had two hall of famers at wide receiver, a good o-line, a great running back in edgerin james, a great tight end in dallas clark, and a hall of fame kicker (vinateri)
Yes the defense kind of sucked though they did have two great pass rushers (freeney and another guy whose name eludes me)

That colts team was very loaded on offense. And peyton was fantastic at using those weapons as he was statistically one of the best qb's every year he played for the colts

thats when they stopped winning.

No they didn't.
What was the pats overall record during that stretch? What was their playoff record.

You yourself said you can't simply look at super bowl wins. Im confident that the pats still had a very good record even when they didn't win the super bowl. Can't win it every year. There are other good teams in the nfl besides the patriots

Btw, I repeat, im NOT a Brady fan or patriots fan
But to act like Brady and the patriots were only good during spygate and deflategate years is simply retarded

Pats have been good for around a decade, consistently. Ever single season. Spygate and Deflatgate and all the gates not withstanding.

I never hold much stock in "*" wins. they still won and beat everyone else. That goes for the Spurs chip in the lockout year. No one else rose up and took it. But I still think they are a shady org. Always will be in my eyes.

Having said that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA suck it Brady. He took the most punishment a QB has taken in any NFL game since 2006. That Denver D line is killer. Ware, Miller, Wolfe, Sly, Harris, Talib, Ward, Stewart, Marshall, Jackson and Trevathan. oh man, killers. The pro bowl should have just taken the Denver D and made them the AFC defense.

Kubiak tried to run out the 2nd half. And the Denver O gift wrapped a TD (missed FG lol) for Brady. So the Denver D gave up only 12 points to the Patriots IMO (the other 6 is on the O).

Good post.
And fwiw I have no problem with someone saying manning>Brady. I think there is an argument to be made for each player and probably an argument to be made for about 5 or 6 guys being the best qb ever (brady, manning, elway, farve, montana, bradshaw, maybe even marino and young) but broncsters posts come off as brady isn't very good or manning >>>>>> brady. And manning carried a crappy no talent Indy team which is simply not true.

you're bitch enough to sift through this thread for an old post, but then not find and read the post where I explained my take on the game? shocker.

If I had to chose it would come down to Brady or Montana IMO. But all those names are elite.

I probably should have included troy aikman in my list too.
He gets no credit. He probably did have the best supporting cast of anybody though. Maybe best O-line of all time, great defense, top three or four running back of all time, an all time great at wide receiver, and a good tight end and full back.
Those dallas teams were stacked

I'm not trying to diminish what the Denver D did but that offensive line was trash and has been most the season. The D still would have gotten pressure on Brady but not to the level they did had Brady been behind a solid(non duct taped o-line). To argue otherwise is foolish.
