Raul Neto has a concussion and the Jazz need another PG.

Report via @shamscharania the Jazz are signing Erick Green to 10 day contract. Green was in Nuggets camp

At 6'3 Green has good size for pg. Led the nation in scoring at VA Tech. Played in Italy last year.

Jazz fans might remember (Nuggets fans certainly do) that the jazz drafted Eric Green and traded him to Denver in the Rudy Gobert Trade.

Green has played in 46 NBA games with one start.

The Jazz will sign former Nuggets point guard Erick Green to a 10-day contract, league sources tell Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. The move will compensate for the loss of Raul Neto, who suffered a concussion in Monday’s game. Utah has an open roster spot following the expiration of J.J. O’Brien‘s 10-day contract Monday, so no corresponding move is necessary.

Green has been impressive since joining the D-League affiliate of the Kings in November. The 24-year-old has averaged 26.7 points, 4.4 assists and 1.6 turnovers in 39.0 minutes per contest across 23 games. He’s also nailed 48.1% of his 154 3-point attempts, showing off a long-distance stroke that didn’t register in his time in the NBA with the Nuggets.

This means that Burke will start a few heading into the trade deadline. Hopefully it helps raise his value some more to play with the "starters" again. Still, way too many injuries.

The only question I have is can he play defense? Enough is enough this year... I think every point guard in the league has had a career night against the Jazz this year.

The circle is complete. Jazz drafted Green for Denver after trading the pick (plus cash) to get Rudy Gobert. Now he has finally come home.

And I agree with Mongoose. They NEED someone to play defense from that position. Had Burks not broken his leg, I think we'd have seen a lot more 3 wing lineups. . . but injuries have derailed that as well.

We should have just picked Joseph Young in the draft instead of Olivia.

Jazz suck at drafting

I like this move

I don't know if he can play defense, but lets recap what we know....6-3 pg, lead the nation in scoring, averages 27ppg in the d-league while shooting 48% from three. And he was not on an NBA roster. Just my guess, but nope, he can't play defense.

You're probably right, but I am glad the Jazz signed someone quick, before people had a chance to start the Jimmer talk. As bad a Green might be at D I am confident he is a much better option than Jimmer.

This is a great move on a few fronts. Erick Green can light it up, I could see him dropping 15 in one of these games.

He's a crafty finisher in transition. He's got SOME (limited) combo guard skills, he throws good lobs, he's a seasoned scorer. He can play PG at 6'3" or 6'4"

He's 74/154 (48%) from 3 this season in the d-league

Hahahaha, if he blows up and succeeds in Utah the Gobert trade will go down as the greatest coup in NBA history!

Not opposed to this signing. Green was one of the best college scorers to come out of the draft. I remember the TNT draft commentators liking the pick prior to the sensational Gobert trade.

The guy can hit the three so I like him already. If he can play defense he'll quickly win us over.

Jazz suck at drafting

Clearly they have whiffed every single pick in the last 5 years. I mean, all we have to show are a bunch of scrubs for our drafting. It's not like we have a borderline all star or defensive player of the year candidate that we drafted. I mean, you would at least think we would get a late first round pick that would turn out to be a starting wing player or something. Come on Lindsay! What the hell are you thinking?

Hacl, you may not be an idiot like Thee Jazz Fan says, but your internet posting persona does not make it easy to verify your non idiocy.

Could Green outplay Trey and force the Jazz to trade him (Trey's performance last game was so disappointing)? Or is that overrating him? I haven't seen him play.
