Go GET Teague

If NY gets Teague for a crappy offer of Calderon and stuff I'm going to drive to Utah and kick DL in the nuts.

We have been talking about this potential match since Exum got hurt. Not sure it really has anymore legs now than it did day 1.

Considering the Hawks are actively shopping and Woj brought Utah up on his podcast as somebody making and taking calls, I'd say it definitely has more legs than ever right now.

We were pretty good last year, but I'm not so sure you can contribute a lotof that to Exum.

Exum has a lot of red flags for where we picked him. Namely he played very timid. His shot doesn't look good. The only thing that looked good was his defense. He could barely make a layup. That's a huge red flag. He's not as quick as he was billed either.

I would say it's a lot safer to say he isn't that good, than he's gonna be really good. I'd have no problem trading him.

lol not as quick as billed .. you're funny

I don't think the Knicks can even offer a 1st rounder so I really have no idea how a trade between them could possibly work.

Ian Bagley wrote an article that they've had continued discussions and mentioned Jerian Grant and their 2018 pick that they can offer apparently. Still would be a poopoo platter and if there are discussion going with them there would have to be some interest on Atlanta's side. Burke & Burks is a better offer than what the Knicks can put out there.

I looked at Teague's stats, he's overrated. Advanced stats are bad, defense is bad. I suspect even Burke + Burks is too much. Don't fool yourself with the "allstar" mention.

I'd still do it if it's Burke + filler, but that's all. Exum will be back next year and Burks is still improving. Offensively Burks is a top NBA talent (most underrated player according to D. Wade). It would be a mistake to trade him for a veteran with less than 2 years left on his contract.

Jerian Grant is awful. Burke, let alone Burks, is more than anything the Knicks can muster. DL will use that leverage to talk them down.

The fact we don't have any mini albatross contracts hurts us dealing with them. If we were to take on Splitter it might get done without Hood. Hard to match up salaries.

Am I really to believe the Jazz are going to burn future 1st round picks in order to replace injured players for this season??

I can't see this deal happening.

A void he fills is as a legitimate playmaker. Could open up a lot for this squad.

We could probably make it work with Booker plus our unused cap space and an unguaranteed or Withey.

Who to say this deal wouldn't happen even with Exum healthy?

I doubt Dante is better than Teague next year... this buys him time while we compete.

The more I think about it though i think I'd go Burke and Burks but that's it. AB is underrated and I think his absence has made me forget how good he is and can be.

Or that he'll be healthy next year. Favs missed like 15 games with back spasms... that means Exum could miss the next 5 or 6 years (I kid). Seriously though this injury for Exum sucks because it is really a two year injury... the second year being a recovery/readjust year.

I've already tried using logic to explain why Utah shouldn't do this deal, but with the whole kids in a candy store affect... What can u do??

If this trade went through tomorrow, and the jazz stayed healthy, then there's still a shot at the 5th seed.

Teague
Hood
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

^that's an absolutely legitimate starting 5.

With one of the worst if not the worst benches in the league. It's definitely a play of what the Jazz value more at this point.

The way I see it, Burke had almost no value 40 games ago + Teague is better than Burks, in general, and fit-wise. Moreover, it is hard to imagine Burke as part of the long-term plans (for a variety of reasons).

In the end, though, I can't see ATL doing this. Why trade off a major piece when you're 3rd in the East and have shown that you can go on serious winning streaks when it all clicks? Perhaps they see some redundancy in Teague and Shro, and see this trade as a big bolster to the bench? I dunno.

Burke, Burks, and a couple of 2nds would be sweet. IMO.
