NFL 2015 Season Discussion Thread

Although I am "Carolina Jazz" and live in the Carolinas, I find it virtually impossible to root for or pull for a team that has a QB who celebrates EVERY play! Not touchdowns, not just touchdowns, but EVERY play he makes! So, I'm pulling for the old geezer, Peyton Manning, and with 2 weeks to prepare, I'm thinking he will come up with a game plan that works well enough to win the game! By the way, I predict the Denver defense will "twist" Newton into a pretzel!

Out here, the talk has all been about Cam and the way he conducts himself. Here's my own opinion on it. I don't like it and feel like sports, in many ways, humbles people. We see it all the time in many shapes and forms. A God like Bo Jackson was gone in the blink of an eye. Mobile qb's like Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick and so on had their flashes and then, voila, became nothing more. They will go down in football lore to a degree but also will be long forgotten. There won't be any statues of them outside of stadiums. And while Cam may win it all this year (or not), I have a feeling he's going to find out the hard way that repeating and being so dominant (against a far tougher schedule moving forward) is much more difficult, if not impossible. Especially as the Panthers have to begin to re-sign and replace players. As injuries occur. He's gonna have guys gunning for him and getting hurt himself as he ages. And players may laugh right back all the while. Why? Because he shows no humility or respect for the game and quite frankly, we oftentimes get what we deserve.

I don't offer any ill will on Newton. But it would be sort of fitting. And my gut tells me, with all the talk this week about Cam and the way the line has moved, Wade Phillips is gonna call his opus and Manning is gonna play slightly better (and wr's will actually catch balls) and they'll win 24-20.

Dumbest **** I have ever heard.

Can't wait to re watch Super Bowl 48! Not. Carolina is going to get after Peyton and cause at least 3 turn overs....hopefully I can hit a square this year

Bro, you are my homie but I have to disagree here. I never liked Newton but actually really like to watch him play now. Part of the reason is because he just has so much fun on the field and let's his emotions go.

I don't usually like showboaters but his celebrations just look like unadulterated fun and happiness.

Norman is going to have at least 1 INT against Manning, hopefully for 6. Denver's D will have a harder time getting to Newton than they did to Brady because, as much as I love the Pats and Brady, Tom is a pocket passer. Aside from the one 11 yard run, he doesn't run. Newton on the other hand, well he's bigger, stronger, and MUCH more elusive.

He will be a challenge for sure. Thankfully the Denver D is fast. They are capable of staying with him and he is certainly capable of breaking free. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Celebrating after every ****ing first down, and running around the stadium after games, taunting players and fans respectively, is not just having good-cleaned fun. Dude's a douche.

@AdamSchefter reporting that Calvin Johnson told Lions head coach Jim Caldwell that 2015 was his last season, per the ESPN ticker.

Good for Calvin, glad to see he's going out exactly how he wants. Great revolutionary talent. Good for the Lions too, they have a lot of needs and Megatron has a big contract.

It's too bad he wasn't able to try for a championship. Still goes down as one of the greatest WR's though, IMO.

My problem with Cam and his celebrations is that he doesn't just celebrate when the team is winning. His team can be down 30 points and he makes a half way decent play and he acts like they just won the SB. It's selfish and pathetic. Nobody looks at this right now because they have been winning.

Link to when his team was down 30?

They only lost one game this year (to the falcon iirc)
