So he gets buried on the bench to showcase some potential 2nd round picks?? I smell ********. this can't be good for prospective recruits to look at either.
I think they're pulling the viewing public's leg, the cronies at ESPN such as Dickie V, Seth Greenberg and Jay Bilas are bitter towards Coach Cal and UK, so they'll continue to pile on, and hammer that point home -- Coach Cal knows the court of public opinion's decided Skal's a bust waiting to happen, many still(jokingly) compare him to Ben Simmons..
So they'll play to that angle for a bit, give these pundits enough rope to hang themselves - then have him and the team close the season as best as possible ( I stil think they can make a deep run) and call it progress, they'll say **** like "the difference is night and day" -- And Skal will move on to the pro's
Skal being 7' with the ability to play PF is his saving grace, he's going to kill it in private workouts for NBA teams, so it's obvious he can't fall all that far in the draft - Teams will be worried to pass on his talent.
This totally looks like a team that's showcasing all their players, rather than one looking for the best combinations to move forward.. I really don't agree with the way players are being featured.
Tyler Ulis is no Kemba Walker, the offense should have been running thru Jamal Murray from day 1 IMO, the team would have a few losses for sure, it does now though, the offense would look completely different, Briscoe wouldn't be driving into traffic to throw up contested layups (with Murray wide open for 3) if that was going on.
They'd have been better off platooning IMO. I'd seriously switch up the rotations too
I said I'd start Lee, Willis, Mulder, Murray and Briscoe at PG. then Bring in Ulis and Skal as a P'n'R threat off the bench..
Now I'd go with
Skal-Willis-Mulder-Murray and Ulis
Lee-Poythress-Matthews-Murray-Briscoe off the bench.
who's showcasing worse thus far.. Skal or Briscoe?? I'd say Isaiah and it isn't even close.
