What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

I said their measurements are nearly identical. And they are. That's just a fact. What are you not understanding?

You have never even see Nigel Hayes, You have said that. So don't step up to the plate with a heavyweight unless you have seen them... Hayes body is total opposite from Khawi.. Hayes isn't as athletic but ha a higher bball iq.... You yourself said you haven't seen him..lol...

Kentucky ****ing lost to Tennessee?? Christ almighty... psh, I'm gonna catch the replay ,that boxscore is just exasperating to look at though, I can already tell I'm gonna be complaining about the rotations..

PKM what do you make of how Skal's minutes are being handled recently?? I feel like if they're going to lose, they should go down with their big guns on the floor..

Tough call for Cal. His 'players first' mantra and best-ever recruiting will be dented if he completely sits Skal, but we lose when he's playing..
He's got a great shooting stroke and not much else, at all, at the moment.

Jamal Murray sure does put up a lot of shots.. Good midrange game and Shooter but he is going have a harder time in NBA getting them shots off the dribble.. Should be a late lottery mid first round pick. Most Likely will go top 8 however... 3 out of 12 from three point land last night. Ouch.. Needs space to get is shot off in the NBA.. I am not going call hi ma bust because a lot of times with some players it is all about fit and where he goes...

Ill tell you after last nights game who impressed me.. 2 players

Troy Williams Indiana- Kid plays smart and great athlete. Lock down defender at NBA level, has legit sie. Needs to add muscles to his frame. Junior so he might come back bt if he gets to combine he will impressed and move into late round 1

Yogi Ferrell- Loved how Crean called the timeout and got on hi mearly in the game, Yogi didn't pout or whine and went out and lead IU to a 25-0 run to end the first half.. He is going go undrafted, Dleague player. Maybe he gets a call up and proves himself, maybe he doesn't... If he ad another 3 inches he would be a mid first rounder.. GREAT FLOOR GENERAL and a solid shooter. Great 4 year college player that good teams need and this pains me to say because IU is my rival. Respect what this kid has done over his career.

Duncan Robinson Michigan on a side note I have been watching a lot of Michigan games because I want to see if this kid could make it to the NBA. Hollywood type story right? From D3 to D1 to NBA... He needs a lot more work until he can get into the nba however.. The positives about him that will intrigue NBA teams is he is tall and boy he really can shoot it... Needs to add a lot more strength and show he can defend before he gets a sniff from the league however. No reason he couldn't be cross between Kyle Korver and Steve Novak. He is awfully weak on the defensive end.. He needs to hit the weight room hard this offseason...

Shut the **** up. Spy is a vet here, respectful of and liked by everyone here. If he wants to ask a ****ing question he should. Stop being a dick.

What positon does Ben Simmons guard in theNBA? Tired of these college anonouncers comparing him to Magic Johnson, This is a joke right? He is solid but people trying to hype im to Lebron levels is a joke and a slap in the face to the game I love, basketball. Against better teams this year Simmons doesn't perform as well... Against bottom feeders like Auburn he puts up numbers and looks good.. Ingram from Duke has been growing on me. I am not so sure that Ingram cant steal that number 1 draft spot... I see this draft with a bunch of solid players but no real dominate player in the nba..it is a deep draft with role player types for the nba..
I don't scout foreign players and teams usually take a lot of foregn players in round 2. Grab and stash types, but I see a lot of players from the NCAA who wold be solid round 2 players, round 2 players that could make the league

It is called sarcasm... I respect him. It is called smack talk dude... I am sure he is a greta person in life and I am not ripping on him as a person.. Chill out... It is insane jut looking at numbers and thinking they have the same body type... Nigel Hayes and Khawi Leonards bodies are total opposites and you know this so don't play dumb. Most be to much moonshine and imbreeding from your Kentucky Fam right?

The CSU player did have a nice dunk but the SDSU player should of never went for the block. He didn't even get close and had a bad angle.. THe CSU player didn't dunk over him but he went thru him.. Sad story about his parents and his little niece and nephew also passed away in the fire.. It as been a big story here in Fort Collins and nationally.

There's nothing wrong with moonshine or hot-as-hell cousins.
You'd know that if you weren't still stupid off of the Bruce Weber days.

I don't buy that at-all.. Look at his stats per 40 minute or per 100 possessions.. He's shooting 53% from the floor, 4.1 blocks per 40 minutes.

His rebounding #'s are seriously skewed. They're a result of Guards like Jamal Murray and Briscoe grabbing 5+ boards a piece, and too many bigs(like Porzingis in Sevilla)

When was the last time all the UK starters combined for 0 blocks in a game??

His blocks are not typical/translatable type defensive stands.. more random acts. Plus side is it's instinctual. Downside is it's not predictable, this season.
His rebounds are not because of other UK guards (though I see where you could easily assume that). It's because his hands/grip is weak as ****. He grabs, at least, twice as many rebounds per game just to have other guards literally just take the ball out of his hands... same on offensive catches.

Kentucky guards get rebounds because of all that size Kentucky has turns teams into jump shooting teams, Taking jump shots leads to long rebounds.. So the guards pick more of them up

So he gets buried on the bench to showcase some potential 2nd round picks?? I smell ********. this can't be good for prospective recruits to look at either.

I think they're pulling the viewing public's leg, the cronies at ESPN such as Dickie V, Seth Greenberg and Jay Bilas are bitter towards Coach Cal and UK, so they'll continue to pile on, and hammer that point home -- Coach Cal knows the court of public opinion's decided Skal's a bust waiting to happen, many still(jokingly) compare him to Ben Simmons..

So they'll play to that angle for a bit, give these pundits enough rope to hang themselves - then have him and the team close the season as best as possible ( I stil think they can make a deep run) and call it progress, they'll say **** like "the difference is night and day" -- And Skal will move on to the pro's

Skal being 7' with the ability to play PF is his saving grace, he's going to kill it in private workouts for NBA teams, so it's obvious he can't fall all that far in the draft - Teams will be worried to pass on his talent.

This totally looks like a team that's showcasing all their players, rather than one looking for the best combinations to move forward.. I really don't agree with the way players are being featured.

Tyler Ulis is no Kemba Walker, the offense should have been running thru Jamal Murray from day 1 IMO, the team would look completely different.

They'd have been better off platooning IMO. I'd seriously switch up the rotations too, same **** I said a while back.

who's showcasing worse thus far.. Skal or Briscoe?? I'd say Isaiah and it isn't even close.

Don't be mad.

The truth is Skal has fantastic upside, but is so weak he is a maddening case of we-lose when he's on the floor. The question is what is the coaches job (play players because of potential or to win games - it's a serious question).
Briscoe has a poor outside shot, but he breaks down a defense, finishes near the rim, and is arguably our best defender. No question, at all, Briscoe is the better college player THIS year.

I'm not mad, I just find this situation to be obtuse and absurd, and possibly counter-productive.

Skal's not the reason they blew a 21 pt lead to Tennessee, the players with the lions share of the minutes are. He's the designated scapegoat because his value is the safest, can't fool me.

Do you think Briscoe's still a first round pick with those Yinka Dare-esque shooting %'s?

I'm not defending any UK player. All I see is you attacking the decision making to not play Skal more. What I'm saying is he's pretty awful. It's a tough call whether he should play more, we lose more, and hope he gets better THIS year, or sit him and hope to win more games. Tough call. Problem is he IS NOT PROGRESSING at all. Also, and I've never shared this before, but the players don't like his work ethic, his attitude toward the coaching staff, etc. The players were WAY behind him through about 12 games and then they, too, started getting fed up. His handler is complaining too.

It's just not an easy situation.

To answer your question about Briscoe..
I would have him around #35. He plays VERY hard, but I don't project him as a good NBA player.. but he's a better cbb player than Skal right now.

I just see squandered opportunities, and not a good explanation as to why. It seems the opposite of a streamlined operation..

My main complaint is the rim-protection, Poythress is 6'8" and Willis is 6'9" (WTF is going on?!)... it's not just Skal's minutes, Poythress is like a poor mans Montrezl Harrell at C next to Willis, he shouldn't be starting over Lee..

Considering the scale of the recruiting operation they're running -- It's a joke(for the rim protection to be flimsy). This team's luckily been injury free too..

You know and I know there's 4-star players out there that would guard that basket like their lives depended on it, especially if they got an offer to play at UK... **** I can name a bunch of 3-star players that would..
... yet so much of this is hindsight.

If you honestly think ESPN and those guys have a negative agenda against Kentuck yand Calpri I cant take anything you say serious again. ESPN slurps on Calpri all the time... Seriously you cant think this right?

Tyler Ulis is no Kemba Walker, the offense should have been running thru Jamal Murray from day 1 IMO, the team would have a few losses for sure, it does now though, the offense would look completely different, Briscoe wouldn't be driving into traffic to throw up contested layups (with Murray wide open for 3) if that was going on.

They'd have been better off platooning IMO. I'd seriously switch up the rotations too

I said I'd start Lee, Willis, Mulder, Murray and Briscoe at PG. then Bring in Ulis and Skal as a P'n'R threat off the bench..

Now I'd go with

Skal-Willis-Mulder-Murray and Ulis

Lee-Poythress-Matthews-Murray-Briscoe off the bench.

Do you even know what measurements are? That's literally the only thing I posted about.
