What's new

Would you trade?

No way. I like Horford's ability to stretch the floor but Favors is a more dominant player, maybe even on both ends of the court.

No way, Horford hasn't always stayed the healthiest if I remember correctly. I think Favors is way better on defense and his offense is coming along nicely.
Also Horford is 29(30 in the offseason) Favors is 24(25 in the offseason)
Horford is going to be a free agent this offseason and will get way overpaid
Favors has what, two years left on his deal after this season? And its on one of the very best contracts in the NBA

This is an easy NO

No!!! Horford is better offensively, Favors is much better defensively, he's younger and less injury prone.

The Hawks would love to make that sorta swap, he's a hometown kid on a cheap longterm deal.

I never said i would do it just curious. I am at work and bored to death. Saw him being used in rumors. Had no idea he is a free agent.

That's the only reason that he's being included in those trade rumors. The fact that he can leave like LMA has them worried about getting something for their star before he walks.

I don't think it would change the makeup of the team that much anyways.

There are very few players I'd trade favors or Hayward for.

I don't know why everyone is so willing to make a move, a lot of basketball has to do with chemistry....So we bring in a Jeff Teague for the second half of the season, there is a feeling out process for new guys are you guys really wanting to have to try and do with that with only 30 games left? We're not Jeff Teague or an Al Horford away from beating GS or SA....Leave the team as is, let them continue to grow, add in Burks coming back and Exum next year.

Wow... sorry Croc, but No.

Favors is younger, with much more potential.

When can the potential card stop being played? Eventually you settle just into the player you are.Favors is who he is at this point. Just another classic example of Jazz fanz overrating theplayer on the Jazz. Horford is by far a superior player who actually has played a lot of the 5 spot also.

He is also turning 30 this June... and will be looking for a new MAX 4-5 year deal...

By the end of his contract when he's 35, would he still be worth ~$20m we'll be paying?

This is the main point. Sure, horford is probably better right now, but not by much. And would he even re sign here anyways? No sense in losing favors for a marginally better player who is soon to be on the downward trend.

Horford is not the superior player. Favors has improved every year in the league and was on an All-star pace till his back injury. No GM in the league would take Horford over Favors right now.

Favors statistically is better than Horford right now offensively and defensively. Favors is also 24 on a good contract. Favors is also better than Horford was when he was 24.
