The Official: Dont trade Burke for Lawson thread.

What if lawson blows up and helps the jazz reach the second round of the playoffs this year, the jazz pick up his option for next year and since he played so well for us his value is high and we trade him for some good players/draft picks and then start exum next season?

Would you hate that too?

Or why can't Jazz have 3 guard rotation? I know it put Exum off the ball sometimes, but thats not strength. I hope if we can get Ty he does real well an like it Jazz and we have our guard rotation for the next 4 years or more?

You wouldn't want lawson to redeem himself and play like an all star and help the jazz get into the second round of the playoffs?

That's since serious haterade right there

Not hating, just don't want anything to stand in Exum's way. I'm looking to the future. Playoffs would be nice, but not going to be a huge deal to me as long as they are competing for a spot. When Exum went down I changed my thinking and expectations from competing in playoffs to just being competitive and vying for an 8th spot, and we are. I'm all about the baking.

What if lawson playing great didn't stop Exum from being the starter next year?

What if lawson played great and then was not even on the team next year?

Could you root for him and the jazz to do well then?

Yes for sure.

Which is why I root for this trade over the Teague idea. Teague is for sure going to be on whatever team he finishes this year with. Lawson isn't a sure thing for the next year, and I like Teague as a player more, but he will cost more and is a bigger threat to Exum.

Lol. As long as Exum is starting and it only costs Burke or Burke and a scrub that gets zero play time and no picks I'm good.

If The Jazz can trade Lawson straight up for Burke and bring in another team to make the numbers work, then I'm OK with this trade.

If anything more than Burke is required then I'm against it.

Lawson's non-guaranteed 13mil for next year deal MIGHT create some interesting scenarios in the offseason - although with everyone having cap space soon the impact of this asset would be diminished.

All in all, I'm "meh" on this deal. I doubt Lawson will amount to anything more than a 30 game plug in.

I think Trey is more professional than his dad or people around him. He hasn't acted up at all.
Hes been pretty solid this year scoring off the bench.

If its time for him to go at least we sold high.

You want nothing to do with Ty Lawson trust me. He is a shoot first and shoot a lot pint sized guard. He plays no defense , and he is a cancer in the lockerroom along with a woman beater who drives around drinking.. He would ruin the goo d chemistry yall have. STAY AWAY FROM TY

BTW, Ty never made it out of first round playoffs before so don't expect him too now.. He was abused with the nuggets in the playoffs. Teams picked on him since he cant defend at all.

Never been an all star. Was putting up numbers on a bad team. Is a cancer in the lockerroom and off the court.

I never said he was an all star and never said he put up numbers on a good team and never said he is a great guy in the locker room or off the court

He is not a shoot first pg. He has never averaged more than 13 shot attempts per game. Even when he was averaging around 35 minutes per game.

He did average 9.6 assists per game though in the 14-15 season and 8.8 assists in the 13-14 season.

I just wish for one trade where I can say that the Jazz gave someone crap for real value. It's always either we give teams value for crap or like in this Burke-Lawson proposal, both teams drop their steaming piles on each other. I just wish we could rip someone off for once.

I thought he had 3 DUI's, but someone said it's actually 4. I'm going to agree with you. If it's 4, he is not only pickled, but most likely will continue to drink, which could have serious consequences to the short term symbiosis of our team. His drop off in stats for this year is probably more attributable to his alcoholism than the Rockets scheme.

In retrospect we ripped NJ off big time.

Newest rumor has Ty Lawson getting released if no trade deal is reached. If we really wanted, could pick him up off the street in a few days and lose nothing in the process.

I'd rather have Teague but I don't see that happening either.
