A great day on Jazzfanz

fishonjazz, one of our own, will be a first-time daddy soon enough. And the last few days was a great example of people coming together for no other reason then they wanted to do some good, in this case, contributing toward fish's baby registry. I thank you. Seriously. He had nothing to do with it. He did not ask for this. But Jazzfanz collectively came together and did something truly great for fish and his family. So again, thank you.

This is what your selflessness and goodness was able to get them.

Awesome, awesome stuff!!! Some may not want to be recognized for their contributions but screw 'em. I want to give a special shout out to Jason, Peeks, franklin, Gameface, Siro, Stoked, dalamon, Howard, bigb, Kinkkk and tonstermits. If I forgot anyone, I apologize. Additionally, if I was unpersonable in the process (which I've been told), I wanted to very sincerely apologize. That was not my intention. It was only to do a good deed.

Lastly, if anyone still wants to contribute toward this, as I did not reach out to everyone and I'm sure there are still many, many generous people on the site, PM me and we can still order more.

He deserves every bit of it!

Awesome person in real life and one of the best contributors to this site.

Congratulations Fish - truly happy for you!!! One more Jazz fan to add to this great group!!!

Thanks CL for organising the gifts. Great job all round.

Well jazzfanz if your goal was to make a guy look like a lil bitch in front of his co-workers then job well done.
I start work each morning at 6am but i have not been late to work in like probably 5 years (have not called off work in over a year) or more because I leave really early and get to work at 5:37 each morning (seriously, 5:37 exactly pretty much every day. its kind of wierd) and chill in the breakroom on jazzfanz catching up on threads.
Well this morning I didn't get to this particular thread until right as my 6am transition meeting was starting. I opened this thread and read through the posts and got tears in my eyes during the meeting and a few people noticed. Honestly, though I really dont care that people noticed. Im an emotional softy and not embarrassed about it.

Im blown away and overwhelmed by this gesture. I have talked a bit with wes mantooth (CL) about this over the last week or so, so he has already heard some of what i will post.

He had asked me where my wife was registered and I told him and he said he was thinking about getting us something. I thought that was pretty damn amazing of him. At that point I had no idea what was actually being started.
He later on told me that he asked a few other jazzfanz if they wanted to contribute and told me that some did and he told me some of the names of those mentioned in the OP. I was shocked. I told my wife about it and she asked "why would some guys on the internet buy stuff for Shiloh (the babys name) and us?" My answer was simply, because they are my friends. I feel that this is true.
Its so amazing that this has happened. More amazing because this is a bunch of GUYS doing this. I am a man and being a man I rarely buy gifts for my guy friends and vice versa. My wife buys gifts for everybody under sun for every occasion. I just dont think that is how allot of men are. And of course my wife will be having a baby shower and my sisters and her sisters and her friends and our moms will all buy her gifts for the baby shower.
I doubt any of my guy friends in real life that i have known for years and years will get me anything. And Im 100% fine with that. I have no expectation that they will or that they should. As gameface knows (and he feels the same way), I am bah humbug around christmas and hate it when people buy me gifts cause then im obligated to buy gifts for them.
Well in this case im extremely grateful for what you guys have done (especially you, CL. I will never forget) and I do feel some obligation in this case too. Im obligated to realize how great people can be and how great a gesture like this can make someone feel. I feel obligated to pay the good deeds forward. If I see a person whose car is stuck in the snow then i feel obligated to push them out. If someone needs some help then I should help them. I have always been the type to break up a fight or help someone with car trouble, volunteer my time, help someone move, etc. (If any of you ever need help with moving or laying sod or doing sprinkling system or something or something where you need a hand, dont hesitate to ask. Not saying that i guarantee i will help but the chances are good that i will) I like to make people happy. This just shows how effective doing good deeds can be.

When i was thanking CL in a text he responded humbly by saying "dont thank me yet, you might get this stuff and it might be a pile of ****." Well, my wife and i went and looked at the registry and saw what had been purchased. You guys bought so much stuff that cost so much money. Its too much. We thank you so much.

One way that i will be thanking everyone for this is that when the stuff gets delivered Im going to get nude and with the gifts arranged to cover the fractable regions and take a picture to post in this thread. I know that is what you all want and I aim to please.

Everyone in this thread got repped by me except CL. It said i had to spread the rep around. Then i repped all the other posters in the thread and yet still couldn't rep CL. wtf

I consider myself your friend fish. I'd gladly grab a beer with you if I ever got the chance.

Also Shiloh is a great name. Just post a pic of Shiloh if you and Mrs. Fish are down with that.

Will definitely post a pic of her

One other thing I forgot.

My wife was like "your jazzfanz buddies need to leave some stuff for my friends and family to buy!"

Oh and she actually watched the 4 quarter and overtime of last night's jazz game. (She never watches the jazz with me)
Before the game started I was telling her who the jazz were playing and the playoff implications blah blah blah and she asked if the rockets have anyone on their team she would know (I figured she only knows lebron, kobe, dirk, griffin, howard and jazz players) and so I said ya, they have dwight Howard and another really good player with a huge beard. She said "james harden?" I didn't think she knew who he was.
Turns out he was dating someone (I forget who) famous and that's why she knew him lol
