What's new

More Fun From the Utah Legislative Session

Ugh... just more proof it's about power and control and not us.

What a bunch of maroons.

This time of year is a great source of entertainment for me. What will they do next?

Saw that. So absolutely ridiculous.

These clowns act like medical marijuana is this huge thing that needs careful study (been happening in California for more than 20 years) but rush headlong into stupid **** like this.

What's worse is the people I'd like to have respect for who act like our legislature is doing what they ought to be doing and representing what they ought to be representing. Like this isn't a sad sad joke.

So they're saying special interest groups have too much power over these politicians, so they want the politicians to be selected by other politicians to stop it?

Edit: over not of

Isn't that the age old joke about the republican party in general? The government has too much power, so we need to be put in power.

Isn't this just for show tho? It's not like they think they have a chance in hell of succeeding.

I think we need to double the size of the Utah legislature and thus halve their districts. Maybe if there were more voices there would be a little more diversity?

I don't like the attempt even if it's just for show. It looks like more games to me.

This is me talking with little actual information, but I can't think of any new info that would change my mind.

Who are they showing off to tho? Of course it's symbolic but if that's all I don't think that's the motivator. People of that brand are doing it trying to spark a movement.

I'm actually partial to repealing the 17th. On the other hand, I don't think it would change much in the end. It's just good to know that my vote for a senator would matter on some level. I could lead the cavalry to oust a local legislator if she voted for a senator that I didn't like. That's a double edged sword in this state tho. We ousted a pretty good guy in Bennett and replaced him with a psycho. At least we still have Hatch, who at 109 years of age has a better head on his shoulders than Mike Lee.

I'm trying to be babe today.
