What's new

A great day on Jazzfanz

I nearly had tears in my eyes reading Fish's post... very moving.

Look forward to seeing Shiloh!!

How did you come up with the cool name may I ask? Is it pronounced Chai-Loh or Chi-Loh?
It's like shy-low. My wife liked it. Might be because brad pitt's kid is named shiloh
Middle name is going to be Scout btw. Named after my wife's dad who passed away a few months after she got pregnant. He was really into the scout program and helped tons of kids become eagle scouts

I'm adopted (twice actually)) and I have a different last name than the rest of my family. We thought we were done and she got a surprise pregnancy (long story) and I finally got my boy. We gave him my fathers last name as his middle name and changed my middle name to it as well. Just wish my father could have been here to see it.

How many girls before getting your boy?

Adopted twice? That's very unique. Anything you want to share about how/why that was?

3 girls (4 if you count the 17 year old I have been helping).

I was the result of to much weed and booze at a party in the twilight of the 70s. A woman in my birth town knew my bio mother. So she took her in and cared for her during my pregnancy. When I was born she was the nurse on duty and the one to actually deliver me. Then this woman called her sister living in Colorado and asked her how she felt? When the sister said she was fine the woman said that is remarkable since you just had a baby boy. Come get him. they jumped in the car (they had been searching for a while for a kid to adopt) and rushed out to get me. Then they got divorced when I was three and he ended up emancipating me when I was 16. Hope he burns to death. My adoptive mom remarried when I was 5 to her high school sweet heart. That man adopted me and my older brother when I was 31. My only biological relations are my three youngest kids. My oldest two I picked up along the way and are not mine. As a result of all that I am 1 of 11 and not related by blood to any of them.

Your family tree is a bit unorthodox to say the least.
Good job of going through all that and turning out so good

Deserves much rep, but I must spread some around.

Yeah when I go into full detail I have to usually draw a chart lol. About half the family is adopted or raised by a non bio parent(s). My family has been chosen over the last 6 decades. person by person. We have a little of everything but are mostly white and hispanic.

We even have a quarter Japanese woman, adopted mexican girl who had been abandoned, half Mexican Isreali woman, Ecudorian male, black crack baby boy, good ole southern bubba redneck man and a quarter Cherokee man.

One could say you know a little bit about diversity.

Awesome story, btw. Very unique for sure, and very awesome.

Spice of life. Our differences should be celebrated and embraced.

Also no more derailing Fishes thread. Shiloh is going to be adorable.

Hey fish,

I was banned when this all took place, which makes me sad. You're one of the best all-time posters around here... probably the dude I'd most like to drink beers and watch a game with in real life. Congrats on the baby!

If there's going to be another purchase, would someone pls PM me? tia
