Official NJ Nets Watch

because, ya know, I'm kind of a sap for Deron, and I'm totally a sap for babies, I can tell you that this was mentioned in one of the NY papers and it seems he's planning to make the trip, and then they'll possibly see about an early delivery to coincide with the few days off he'll have after the London trip
(I read she's due on 3/15)

You guys are freaking desperate. Nets watch? Really? And what if we get the 8th pick? Who is that superstar in this year's deep draft that is going to make us a contender?

I agree 100%. Like I said, draft picks and potential are extremely overrated on this board.

As for the thread topic, I hope the Nets beat the Suns tonight. I want playoffs.

Oh snap. Nice. I saw the Suns were up one with about five seconds left and then the final score said the Nets won. Thank God.

according to the recap Humphries had a tip-in that came a half second too late. we got lucky basically.

Deron missed a running bank shot. Basically had two defenders on him for the final six seconds and still put the shot up. Can't blame him since the rest of the time (Minus Lopez) are scrubs.

Humphries tip was just a split second too late.

The pick is 6 as of now, and will likely go higher before going lower. Do you know who was taken 6th last year? Greg Monroe. Yah, the guy who single handed destroyed our front court and is only 20. Lift your head up.

The Nets have joined that magical combo of Dwill and Kris Humphreys. (wait. Did they actually ever play together? whatever) The nostalgic memories of that one-two punch, the pick n roll, the feeds, the tip-ins.

Actually the only game I saw that Humphreys got in, he looked like he had no idea what team he was on. He passed so much to the other team, I thought he might have been color blind.

Someday, the league will fear Deron and Lopez.

But tonight Deron's sad and I'm mostly happy.

Last year is not this year. This year's class is pretty weak. Doesnt matter if it is 6th or 8th pick. We will likely get yet another guy who will need 2-3 years to become a rotation regular at best. If you thought Gordon Hayward was a underwhelming pick, just wait. Unless the Jazz can fool a team into taking this pick in a trade for a stud SG, it is an absolute waste of time and money. The last thing we need is more picks, if we are really serious about contending shortly. Favors, Miles, Hayward, Fesenko-enough young guys. Al and Millsap are young too. We need an Affalo type SG at the very least to go forward.

I'm tellin you we could end up with a top 3 pick. Minny is only 3 games behind us and right now they would have the number 2 pick. Then you always have a chance with the lottery balls too

Lottery balls really mean everything. Nets losses mean a better chance at moving a couple of slots in addition to greater odds of winning the lottery. There's no reason to not hope for that.

Let's hope DWill's wife has the kid and he takes a game or two off. Up next is Toronto twice in a row followed by the mighty Warriors.

Werd.

Deron, you need the rest and your family needs you. Take the rest of the season off, you need it.

Plus given the worst case scenario of every team jumping the Jazz (yeah 2005 was fun) at least the final position isn't too bad. Although from what everyone keeps claiming this is like a 2 person draft. Still, even if the Nets were 3rd and fell to 6th there's a good chance Barnes could be there, and he wouldn't be bad at that spot. Although I wish there was some stud SG out there would could shoot. That seems to be a weakness, sigh...although speaking of which, I don't know if it's a great pick but the homer in me wouldn't mind seeing Burks from Colorado here.
