Could there be a trade in the works?

J Givonry says that Golden State is planning on taking Udoh over Monroe at number 6. Could it be a smokescreen? or could they have a deal in place with Detroit or Utah? I cant see them taking Udoh with Monroe still on the board. I also seen where C Ford suggested the Warriors might be trading the pick

I will die if we trade up to get Monroe. i would be pleased if he fell to 9 but will not be a happy camper if they trade up to get him unless it involves getting Anthony Randolph. If it does hapen, what does the Jazz organization see in freakin Monroe?

Maybe Cousins will fall to 6:)

Ross Siler is a goob

As much as I trash-talk the Jazz FO, of course they're working on trades. If Monroe realistically falls to 9, they don't need to go anywhere. Considering how much he's valued by the Kings, they'll do their trading up after the draft.

If they have any ****ing brains, anyway.

Yeah it seems like a safe thing for him to say. It's the first real chatter I've heard so far today about the Jazz and it is a non-story really. I am hoping that the FO has something big planned and is just better than the rest of the teams at keeping it secret. The only rumor I've heard really is that the Jazz were attempting to get a second first round pick.

Who knows? The Jazz and KOC are definitely the smoke screen type.

The Jazz depend heavily on the draft, since free agents are tough to attract here.

A bold move would not surprise me, but neither would staying pat.

Why do we want Monroe again?

A soft jumpshooting big man who is limited athletically, doesn't have any toughness, and doesn't play defense?

Haven't we learned our lesson about these types of players yet?

Yeah I am not a fan of Monroe at all. I wouldn't mind if we had a dominant defensive center to pair with him, but we don't have anything close to that.

Exactly.

Having a Memo (once he returns), Fess, and Kosta with Monroe and Millsap frontline would make the classic Memo/Boozer frontline look aggressive and mean.

If we are looking to move up in the draft I would hope that it would be for Cousins, not Monroe.

I like KOC, but remeber he is just like Jerry, and just like LHM & family, and just like Utah. Only made a bold move when they felt panicked.

The question is do the Jazz feel panicked? Okur injured, boozer leaving, D-Will upset, Korver & Mathews FA.....

I think it is much more likely we try to pick up another midrange 1st round. A couple of teams have 3 picks. We need to rebuild our depth some.

Sources: Bulls to free up cap space

The Chicago Bulls have a deal in place that would move Kirk Hinrich and the 17th pick to the Washington Wizards, freeing up enough cap space to pursue two maximum-salary players in this summer's free-agent market, sources with knowledge of the Bulls' plans said Thursday.

It wasn't immediately clear what Washington would send to Chicago in the trade.

The deal can't be officially consummated until July 8, when the Wizards will have room under the salary cap to absorb Hinrich's $9 million contract without having to send back anything of similar value.

Since it's a good-faith deal for the time being, there remains a chance it could fall apart. But according to one source, the Sacramento Kings are prepared to make a similar deal with the Bulls in the Wizards' stead if that were to happen.

Either way, moving Hinrich and the pick would push Chicago's space under the cap from $20 million to more than $30 million. That puts the Bulls on equal footing with the Miami Heat in pursuing not just one but two members of a free-agent class that is expected to include LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudemire and Joe Johnson.

I think being in the lottery is cause for "panic". It doesn't happen often for the Jazz and, as I stated above, they rely heavily on the draft because solid free agents are a tough buy.

I know the statement I made above about not being surprised by either move sounds safe and ubiquitous, but the FO has been conservative when it comes to trades recently. An aggressive trade here would be shocking, but not surprising. At least to me.

We're the Jazz we won't be aggresive and will settle for the minimum and won't trade up. Are second biggest trade the last like 6 years was Korver for Gordan Giricek; thats sad
