What will next year's rotation look like to start the year?

I know this might me too soon, not the offseason yet, but damnit!! I am soooo excited for next year's team.

Exum. Neto. Mack.
Hood. Mack. Burks.
Hayward. Burks. Ingles.
Favors. Lyles. Hayward.
Gobert. Favors. Lyles.

This has the feel of a wide open run and gun offense for the second unit. I'd like to add Whithy, but sadly I haven't seen any evidence that he will even crack the rotation. I am absolutely giddy for this team next year.

How do the rest of u see the rotation next year. Discuss.

A. Withey might make for a great trade chip during the draft. Use him to move up. They can trade him to just about anybody due to his low contract. Might be worth it to move up towards the late lottery.

B. With DL's track record, whoever he drafts will crack the rotation somewhere at some point next year. Burke, Gobert, Neto, Exum, Hood and Lyles all have so far. I expect the next one to also.

C. I don't see Burks at the 3. Most of his time at the 2, with maybe some 1.

D. Snyder loves Jingles. He'll continue to be Hayward's backup at the 3. They might add another wing for the bench, but Joe will get minutes.

Next year :
PG) Exum ,start of the season will have been 15 months after surgery and still a young 21
....Mack , is becoming a pleasant surprise and could be a really good backup to Exum
....Neto ,shooting 40% from 3 pt his rookie season

SG) Hood ,I think Exum/Hood backcourt pairing is going to zoom up the charts as best young guard tandem
....Burks ,will get lots of minutes to attack NBA defenses, their will be no room for rest by opposing NBA defenses

SF) Hayward ,teams won't be able to double team him with the offensive potential of Hood,Burks,Favors,Exum,Lyles,Mack..Hayward will excel
....Ingles ,is a coach on the court and IMHO makes the best passes on this Jazz team

PF) Favors, nothing wrong with a PF who gives you 17-20 ppg,8-10 rpg and can protect the basket every night
....Lyles ,a bigger/younger version of Ingles ,can make 3's,pass with the feel of the game and rebound

C) Gobert ,along with Whiteside the best rim protector in the NBA and bigtime rebounder,Exum's defense against PG's will make him even more effective
...NBA Draft 12th-13th pick ,Skal Labassiere if available ....because of Gobert, you can take high end talent and develop him

I don't remember who was giving me crap about this. But I basically said that I had hopes that Neto would become a decent shooter from 3 and shoot in the high 30s % wise (I think I used 37-38% as my hope). They acted like I was asking for the moon!

Well Neto beat my hope on that one single angle and faster than I thought! SO HAHAHAHAHAHAHA to whoever it was. Now if Neto can increase his attempts per game without sacrificing to much % wise.

I seem to remember hearing about how bad a shooter he was that his national team coach wouldn't let him shoot threes. Crazy how he's improved his shooting. Anyone else remember this.

Yes I remember that too

C. I don't see Burks at the 3. Most of his time at the 2, with maybe some 1.

I don't see him playing much at pg next year because we have three good pg's that can play. Neto is turning into a nice shooter. Mack is the attacker. They fit well, and just make the second unit that much more difficult to defend and more explosive. Which means Burks at the three. I don't want to see Neto or Mack lost in the rotation.

One thing that is clearing up and reason for excitement also is that the Jazz have the makings for a top 2nd unit .....Emergence of Mack/unexpected 3 pt shooting of Neto.....A healthy Burks and is ability to put pts up.....Ingles ,a court general and good 3pt shooter.....Lyles ,so young but already becoming a offensive force.....maybe a young high draft choice who slid to the Jazz

A. Withey might make for a great trade chip during the draft. Use him to move up.

Unless you are talking about moving up from the 45th pick to the 43rd pick, this is not likely to happen. I like Withey but you can sign a backup center of his caliber in the free agent market.

I love the versatility we have to go big or small:

Big lineups that opponents will have trouble stopping. We can force opponents into trying to match our size at multiple positions and we have enough defensive and quickness to adequately cover the 3 point line against most teams (exceptions include blazers, warriors). Maybe Exum/ Hayward/ Lyles/ Favors/ Gobert. I have not given up the idea of Lyles at the 3 in certain lineups.

Small ball: Mack/ Burks/ Hayward/ Ingles/ Favors: I believe Ingles can be a stretch 4 against certain lineups -- how do we get him to work on strength and conditioning in the offseason so he can adequately defend the 4? His lack of quickness will be less exposed at the 4.

Exum. Neto. Mack.
Hood. Mack. Burks.
Hayward. Burks. Ingles.
Favors. Lyles. Hayward.
Gobert. Favors. Lyles.

Exum, Neto, Mack
Hood, Burks, draft pick
Hayward, free agent signing, Ingles
Favors, Lyles, draft pick
Gobert, Withey, Favors

I think the Jazz will draft two international players.

Yup, I remember us all cringing, myself included, when he would shoot a 3 early this season. I said after one game that he couldn't throw a rock into the ocean lol.

I posted about it as well after one particularly horrendous game.

If Mack & Neto keep up the good work we're set at PG. Awesome, since it was our weakness just a month ago. I see 2-3 rotation players next season who aren't yet on the team. I think we'll draft or sign another SG (who can perhaps also play some SF) and another PF (somebody more defense-minded than Booker).

You forgot Burks, Trey will definitely be traded, Booker it's hard to say because he brings a lot as a bench player, Withey is no D-L player. Take a look at his stats when Gobert was out. The guy is definitely an NBA caliber player. Johnson, well we'll have to see, he has made a lot of improvement this year.
