What's the Status on Burks?

From an article last night: after the game, two things brightened my thoughts on Favors. First, he said that the reason he didn't continue playing after the injury was that he felt that the team was better off without him at decreased capability. If it was a ligament tear, Favors playing wouldn't have been up to him.

Secondly, while he had a sleeve over his knee, he wasn't really icing, elevating, or bracing the injury. That he was available to the media at all is a good sign as well. Again, it feels like more attention would have been paid to his status had Jazz doctors feared a long-term injury.



Sounds like favors is fine so favors will probably be out a few months.

What's our stance on AB with Hood blowing up? I'm sure it was mentioned here before but Hood is a more typical Jazz style SG. I have a feeling we trade Burks but why did we resign him then? Was curious about what you guys thought ?

Burks would be the 6th man scorer off the bench. And one of the best in the entire league. That is valuable and his contract is pretty good for quite a few more years. And he is still very young. If only he weren't dead

I think it's obvious that we need a guy at the end of games who can beat people off the dribble and create his own shot, and Burks is the best on the team at that. I don't think there's anyone in the league who can stay in front of him one-on-one in an isolation.

Agreed! I would like to see him improving on his shooting also, but we have Hood for that.

Jazz are tight lipped but I agree. They should be asking more questions and follow ups to those questions... To the point that you get the hard... We don't want to comment any further.

I mean are there any that you follow or that are must reads... Prolly busy asking talk about questions. Talk about the defense last night... Talk about what so and such player means to the team. I get why they don't get tough though... Could end up restricting their access at some point.

He has the skills but mentally it's never all come together for him for long stretches. Not saying he is dumb. Basketball is a different sport and so much of it is instincts and mental adjustments. i feel like sometimes he can't see everything that is happening and leads to him making up his mind to get to the hoop and throw something up or just take a bad pull up jumper.

He can drive... he can shoot... he can pass... I'm not sure he can pick the right spots to do which though. Like a quarterback with a great arm and measurements, but can't process everything that is going on and makes the wrong reads.

All that said I love Burks... he has a great attitude and loves the game. I hope he is successful and it is with the Jazz that he figures things out.
