What's new

OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

While I'm not necessarily going to argue that basketball was better in the '90s or '80s or whenever, I will point out that that nearly every major rule change in the NBA since I begun watching it has been designed with the sole purpose of helping out guards and creating more superstar guard. Everything from the restricted area under the basket(God, I loathe that one), to no hand-checking, to the defensive three-second violation. It's hard not to speculate about what the league would look like had they not done all this and who the stars would be.

Don't bring this up again! You have lots of closet Curry fans here.

Jazz need to win that road game at Denver. Denver is somehow favored, I think.

According to Lockes daily updates we are favoured in all but two games remaining, which I would assume are the spurs and clippers games. Unless we are favoured against the clippers at home. Not too absurd, but more believable than being underdogs at the nuggets.

Locke just tweeted this:

"WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFF UPDATE
If Favorites Win Out
5. Portland 44 wins
6. Utah 42 wins (win tiebreaker)
7. Houston 42 wins
8. Memphis 42 wins
9. Dallas 40 wins"
fishonjazz Locke says you win that bet.

That would be awesome!

Somebody rep stoked

I'm trying not to cry a river about the Jazz blowing the Warriors game at the free throw line so the Jazz cannot harp on it against the T Wolves or Suns. Boler alluded to the fact the Spurs or Clippers could rest guys during the Jazz games but Boler is an idiot. I love him dearly and love him calling the games, but he's an idiot in that respect. Either way, that Dallas game is going to be monumental. I don't see Houston collapsing or losing any freebies so it will be important the Jazz forget the Warriors heartbreaker and take care of business. I would love to see the Jazz in the playoffs this year. I think it is needed to become a championship contender in the next few years.

So teams would rather face the Mavs than us in the playoffs.

Feel honored.

There was recently an article about worst possible first round match ups:

For the Jazz it was the Spurs, for the Warriors it was the Jazz.

I will save the feelings of honor until after I get paid.
Until then I'm hoping teams don't rest dudes against other teams but do rest against us

Any Favors updates

Nothing yet. Jody G wrote on Twitter two hours ago: "The Jazz said he is being re-evaluated today. They aren't practicing, so we're just at their mercy for some info."

He also added on another tweet: "I've heard rumblings that Alec Burks is hoping he'll be able to play Friday vs. Minnesota. I'm a bit ... skeptical."

Yes and we showed them last night why. This is the 2nd winnable games we've had against the Warriors this year. Had Favors been playing in the 4th quarter we could have and should have won that game. On the other hand we've been blown out every-single-game against the Spurs.

Jazz schedule appears more difficult than Houston and Dallas one, especially because Blake Griffin could return against the Jazz and the Spurs may decide to not rest Duncan, Parker and Ginobili against us.

In addition I'm not sure it will be so easy to beat Lakers in their home for the Bryant last game, the refs could influence that game!

Ugh, sorry y'all. It's been an insane week! I forgot tonight's games!!

Here we go!

Celtics @ Blazers
Bulls @ Rockets
