No game thread? Favors OUT tonight

Wiggins doesn't scare me as much as I thought he would. He will be a good player, but not transcendent. Part of the problem Towns and Wiggins are going to have is that Minnesota is not a good franchise and they could stagnate there like Anthony Davis is in New Orleans (another loser franchise.) I used to think that a great player should be able to overcome that, but there is something to be said about culture and chemistry. Imagine if we had let the Ty Corbin experiment go on for another 5 years. You would then have something akin to what they have in Minnesota.
Yea, Wiggins had his first good game against Utah.

Minny doesn't draft nearly as well as Utah. They lucked into KAT.

I can see our bench being a spark plug for the Jazz. And high scoring with Mack Burks and Lyles.

Considering how Burks was playing before he hurt his leg, and the offensive improvement from both Mack and Lyles getting significant minutes. . . I think this is a very true statement. For years the bench has been terrible. Those 3 have the potential to lead a really solid bench if everyone else is healthy and clicking.

I won't miss seeing Burke or Johnson out there. At all.

I've never been a Rubio fan but he was incredibly disruptive tonight. I wonder how good he'd look with our defense.

If they decided he was for sale I'd give them a listen. Say they draft Dunn and want to clear some playing time for him. If it was say one first rounder I might go for that. Not sure if they are interested... I definitely wouldn't pay a premium for him but he's interesting.

I might be one of the few people to agree with you on this site. I think his stock is (and has been) too low for his talent. I'd definitely listen.

I'm a huge fan of the way the Jazz have been playing lately. Aside from the OKC game they are playing with fire and energy every game.

I love Rubio. LaVine playing at the 2 and shooting well has been a big help for his game, gives him some space. Him with Hayward and Hood would be awesome.

KAT is a true #1 option, very good on offense and defense. Wiggins will be a high profile #2, who also plays good defense. LaVine is very skilled, but also very dumb. Maybe something like a JR Smith role for him? They have a great core. I would say better than ours, just because of KAT.

Jazz have more young talent but I agree Wiggins and especially KAT could be stars.

Rubio's Combined D and iq Remind me a lot of Stockton (Stock was obviously better so please don't jump down my throat).

His positioning, playing the lanes, help D, quick hands, steals, and energy are best among today's PGs.

Just not sure he is worth tying up that much cap space.

Lavine does not fit the ucla mold. Uber athletic but low iq. Does mot play well within the system.

I'm actually kind of impressed with him... Not in this game but overall. I wasn't a big fan but he's much more mature and is a hard worker. I think KAT and him will actually be pretty good leaders. I've heard Wiggins commitment is less than ideal. Couple plays I watched from him last night I thought how do you stop that... Then he disappeared.

Just a random semi-related note..

Once while I was on a train in Spain, I heard two teens talking up Rubio. He was probably still pretty young then, certainly not in the NBA yet. Since I didn't get to talk basketball with too many Spaniards, we had a fun conversation. They kept calling Rubio the "Spanish Stockton," and they were convinced he would be a better player.

Obviously, I think they were wrong on that last point, but I do see shades of Stockton in Rubio.

Random semi-related anecdote over.

Rubio is 25-26 and he's been around for 10 years.
