What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

Fox turned it over early but he looks both quick and fast as ****. Effortlessly too. Nice floater by him. They're saying he;s a great defender and his nickname is The General too because players like to go to war with him. We could use someone like that. Not one guy on our team I'd want to go to war with.

Hmm, really not a fan of employing the fullcourt D in an exhibition type game.

Ferguson can shoot though, looks good.

Markelle Fultz is the truth..

Haven't watch the last 20 minutes or so but Fox, Tatum and Fultz all looked really, really legit. Fox looks a little small but he's not good. His wingspan and standing reach are ony a couple inches below Exum's.

Furgeson is going ballistic!! 6/9 from 3 in the1st half. he looks like a surefire lottery pick in this game. He's also got a 40" vertical and good hands/lateral quickness defensively..

Is he the guy they referred to as the best shooter in the crop? Heard in the background while I was in the kitchen.

pgab,

Fox reminds me a slightly quicker, more athletic Gary Payton. The way he runs up the court, sort of gliding, very calmly but you can tell his head's on a swivel. That floater. Accurate? There's some Beverly in him too.

Fox, Fultz, Ferguson, Allen and Tatum all looked really good. Fox's defense was ridiculous. So fast and ultra competitive. UW so lucky to get Fultz.

FJ and Josh Jackson are guys whose games I really like but didn't impress much today.

The white kid from Oregon got it going from three, but not sure what kind of player be is overall. I think I like Kyle Guy's game more.

Exum's wingspan is 4 inches longer; Fox's wingspan is about the same as Burke's.

-That Hoops summit game was some kind of spectacle.. Very impressed by the team defense, they were swarming, I definitely can't recall seeing anything like that in such a setting..

Amen. you just don't see that kind of defensive intensity in a game like that. It was as if De'Aaron Fox decided that's how it was going to be and everybody else followed suit. Coach Cal is going to love that kid.

I don't disagree about Biancardi at times being unimpressive, but Fran was almost as bad. Once Ferguson started going off, Fran wouldn't stop about the rating and when Biancardi called him out and asked Fran who Ferguson should be ranked ahead of, Fran didn't have the stones to name anybody. Just kept saying he should move up. Easy to say, but if he moves up, somebody else has to move down, and Fran went silent at that point. Also, I didn't hear Fran complaining about Ferguson's ranking until the shots started falling. Easy to praise the hot hand in that situation. Having said all that, Ferguson looks like the ultimate 3 and D guy at the very worst and could be much more than that eventually. The sky's the limit with that kid.

I didn't know anything about Jarrett Allen before the game, but wow - I'll be watching him closely going forward. Wish we could have seen more of Ayton, but his team just got overwhelmed early and he never really got a chance to show much.

Who was the big kid from Nigeria in the game? Kid was meaty as hell for someone from Africa. Some conditioning and coaching and maybe he could be a player. His body reminded me of Zach Randolph or a svelter Eddy Curry.

Honestly, most (all?) on here would agree I can be harsh/negative as **** but those kids impressed the hell out of me in that game yesterday. I am completely, 100% down for trading Burke, our 2016 1st rounder, a 2016 2nd rounder, and a 2017 2nd rounder to someone like the Kings, or TWolves, ya know, a perennial ****head, for their unprotected or minimally protected 2017 1st rounder. Stockpile 2017 assets like pgab and peeks have been saying.

Exum-Mack-Neto
Hood-Burks
Hayward-Ingles-Nigel Hayes?
Favors-Lyles
Gobert-Withey

Maybe we add a legit quick 5 like Ezeli or add a more legit/athletic backup behind Hayward or a more seasoned pg behind Exum via FA, but on a shorter term deal. Two years maybe. I don't care if the cat is 34 years old. Get someone who's solid in case of injury but on a short term deal. That with the return of Exum and Burks, a 2nd rounder this year, a jettisoned party pooper like Burke, AND organic growth is enough addition imo.

What was up with the world team yesterday? They were trying to explain away the talent deficit, saying that a bunch of the guys that would normally be playing for Team World, were playing with European teams instead right now. Why/How's that different from every other year? Was the game earlier than normal this year or something? Or are Euro teams starting to become more interested in younger International players, and keeping them away from college?
They suck/sucked.

@JoshGershon
#Duke freshman Derryck Thornton, Jr. is transferring, sources tell Scout. Averaged 7.1 PPG and 2.6 APG this season.

There's a rumor flying around that Chase Jeter will transfer too if Duke lands Marques Bolden

Another rumor than Allen had his eyes opened in that game and better understands the importance of playing with a solid cast of players. No longer the Texas LOCK he was prior to the game.
