Human rights... To what extend?

Prove he did it. Then hang him with the rope you hung the last guy with.

Wow, that's crazy.

I feel like you lost all your rights when you chose to pick up a gun and kill as many people as you could. :/

No doubt this mass murderer has it too easy. Three rooms and a television is comically, absurdly cushy. On the other hand, it should go without saying that capital punishment is not the answer, being, as it is, hopelessly antiquated and corrupted beyond repair. Instead, I favor a life of hard labor and a bottle of pills. Not meaningful labor either. No sweeping of floors or purposeful drudgery in the prison laundry. Why give even a small bit of meaning to a life lived without meaning? Something more like rolling a heavy boulder up a hill every morning, only to be forced to watch it roll down again in the evening. Rinse and repeat everyday, with only the pills as a means to end it. Justice with compassion, the perfect punishment!

I disagree. It is certainly not the answer for everything and should only be used for certain crimes that are slam dunk cases. But when it is used it should be carried out immediately. No 30 years, no last meal... nothing. Judge adjourns the case and he is dead 10 minutes later. Take him out and hang him. No expensive drugs, no electric chair. A good sturdy rope will do.

On a side not I think we incarcerate for way to many things. There are better options for many crimes. Like community service, fines and rehabilitation.

If they cannot torture they can use gyotine or an axe.

Just like a funeral is more for the living than for the dead, prisons exist for the innocent, not the guilty.

The way we treat prisoners says more about us, the innocent, than it does about the condemned. A prisoner is at the mercy of their captors. This guy has no power.

What do we gain from his suffering? What does it say about us if we gain joy from his pain?

Justice.

Not that it matters
But the Norwegians are descendants of the Vikings and now they are scared to execute this evil monster.
