Official Offseason Rumors Thread

Things I have heard or read:

1. Jazz had two pretty major trades agreed to that the other team backed out of before the deadline. Teague was supposedly one of those. Locke said that Dennis hinted that one of the trades will happen this offseason.

2. Burks and Exum are going to be our biggest free agent signings.

3. Burks is actually dead, and was not really playing at the end of the season. They made a mask for ESap and signed a secret 10 day contract.

4. Jazz need a backup center that has some offense, and a big wing that can defend.

5. Jazz will offer Mike Conly a contract, or at least communicate with him about potential deals.

Add all the ones you have heard or think the Jazz need.

I thought the dialogue on the trades that didn't happen was:

1-Ty Lawson was one of the targets.
2- One of the two trades involved a player that will be a FA in July, and expect the Jazz to make him an offer.

I hadn't heard of number 2. I thought the rumor about Ty Lawson was that the Jazz didn't go further than looking into his situation off the court.

Also, if LeBron James opts out, who does Dennis O'Lindsey call at 12:01 on July first, LeBron or Kevin Durrant?

Locke said the FA part on Locke room clean out. He knows who the two targets were, but wouldn't give them up. Only say that he talked about both at the trade deadline and he didn't get the trade info from the Jazz.

Hearing that the Celtics are wanting to trade their 1st round(BKN pick. Potentially top 3 pick) for Gordon Hayward. In order to lure a big FA. Players want to win now and a top 3 pick is often 3 years away from contributing at an all star level.

Where did you hear this?

The Jazz will change the jerseys and the primary logo(Mountain).

SLC Dunk pointed out these mountains around the arena. Clue?

Good lord, if it's ben simmons or ingram, do the jazz say yes?

I would trade Hayward for Simmons so damn fast. I'd strongly consider a deal for Ingram too.

I probably would too. But that is a hard sell for the fans in general. It would be awesome though. Hayward is damn good, and one of my favorite players, but Simmons might be LeBron. Or Durant.

If you are trading Hayward for Simmons you pretty much have to trade one of our bigs, right? I mean, if you are giving up our best player for Simmons, he has to play.

I've been posting that I think Brandon Ingram is a better prospect than Hayward for quite some time here, probably first posted it over a year ago..

Pretty sure I thought that before Ingram really blew up into the top-3 (in the HS rankings)..

I also said that I thought he was a better prospect than Giannis because of the massive shooting discrepancy..

nonononono, the thought of that makes me cringe a bit tbh.. Favors and Rudy would be the biggest beneficiaries of that trade, he'd get them much easier shots and putbacks.. The front court would be even more imposing with Simmons.. He could start at SF, and also could actually play some small ball 5 next to Lyles at the 4, and that'd cause all sorts of issues vs certain teams, because he can still bring the ball up the floor with a head full of steam...

Unless the FO thinks he can log the majority of his minutes at the 3. Spacing with Simmons/Favors/Gobert would be pretty bad until Simmons works on his outside shot though.

Gun to my head, I'm not sure who I'd trade between Favors and Gobert in that scenario.

Wouldn't you be worried about spacing at all? I think Simmons can become an adequate shooter in time, but he's definitely not there yet.
