Any suggestions as to what to do in LA?

I'm currently in St. George on my way to LA because I have to renew my Spanish passport in person at the Spanish Consulate. I'm staying at a hotel in Wilshire Blvd if any of you know this area. Might as well try to make something out of this trip.

Wilshire Blvd runs from Downtown nearly to the ocean, so you haven't indicated a specific area.

Also (and I'm not joking here), but just about anywhere you go on Wilshire Blvd you're likely to run into a lot of Jewish people..... so you might be very uncomfortable.

Also, how long are you going to be here? What kind of things do you like to do? What's your budget??

LA ia a major world city....there's a lot here.... you got to get more specific.

you'll be in one of the centers of Koreatown. How does that strike you?

I can live with Koreatown. I'll be staying Thursday and Friday night, Saturday night is a maybe...
The only thing I really had planned is going to a concert (Dream Theater) on Friday night. I wouldn't mind checking out a nice area by the ocean that isn't too out of my way. And maybe a cool place to hang out at night nearby, grab a couple drinks... Won't be there long enough for a city like LA, just looking to make something out of it since I need to go there anyway.

Why would you want to suggest anything to me anyway? Obviously I'm not of your likes. Unless it's sending me to the wrong side of town...

The HMS Bounty is a classic bar in Ktown
The closest beach will be in Santa Monica or Venice, but, depending on traffic, that could be a hassle.
Silverlake is nearby, if you're trolling for hot hipster white women.
If you like to play pool, it seems like Koreans will definitely oblige. Little pool halls are everywhere.
For a visitor, though, KTown is about food. Food everywhere. If money is flowing, then just starting drinking and eating, drinking and eating.

I'm trying to help, brough. Even though you didn't make a good impression on me initially, and continued to sort of suck as a poster. I live in Ktown, brough. I'm the only Jazzfanzer who can say that, so.....

Sweet, it looks like that HMS Bounty is walking distance from where I'm staying. I'll check it out.

LOL at the thought that you live right in that area. If you want to grab a drink or something let me know, maybe we can settle things...

George's it is.

This is the spectacle that I'm witnessing live tonight and I couldn't be more stoked. Dream Theater have topped themselves with this masterpiece.
