Kings at Jazz Game Thread Saturday 3/5/11 7:00 PM MST

Deron was half right. Jefferson is becoming an allstar. Just isn't Deron making him into one. He's manned up and doing it on his own. Much cred to big Al.

Ok my Bell comment never appeared in chat because I entered it at the same time Sirdumbass banned me and it didn't show. Jefferson beasted down the stretch, but we could have used our 'closer'. But him and his wrist injury would have blown it anyway.

Why did you get banned?

I don't know, the comments I just made prior to my ban was me criticizing the team for taking the last regulation shot too early. Sirdumbass couldn't take the pro-Boozer talk I guess.

The thing I like about Jason is that he lets people say what they want here, whereas some people want others gone if they don't agree with them. Jason, like God, doesn't violate other peoples free will.

Somebody sounds bent. You going to be aiight princess?

The Jazz are clearly a 'system' team who have lost the coach and PG that ran their system. Several players depended on the system in order to get good shots. Now it's a bit more of a free-for-all. I'm surprised everyone seems to have forgotten the playbook the minute Sloan stepped out the door though. No one knows where to be, none of the passes are crisp or on time, and no one knows when they're supposed to shoot, except for Jefferson and Bell, who seem to have a green light. On top of that, Corbin is experimenting with the rotations.

It's hard to remember that this is the team that started out 15-5 and got wins over Miami, Orlando, the Thunder and the Lakers.

Still, the Kings are better than they used to be. Cousins is a force, and they have three guards who can shoot.

The Jazz are in a bit of disarray and still getting used to playing together.

Good win, although tonight I thought the Jazz really got the benefit of the refs. Still, after the last two games it's hard for me to be too upset about that.

Poor Cousins and his junk tonight.

Big Al is playing on a very high level and with him we were able to stay in games, but we need a clutch shooter to close the game for us. Seldom does a big man get the open looks at the end of a close game to take the last shot, and tonight it was Bell who was able to play that role.

Also at the end of games when we have a drop dead need to score a basket, Big Al tends to take a jump shot instead of going to the basket. For the most part the paint is packed at that time so the best thing to do would be to draw double team and pass it out to the shooter. So, again, we need that shooter.

Agree with the above - you just want AJ to take it to the basket as much as possible rather than settling for the jumpshot. He carried us tonight tho. It is a pity we didnt make a trade/play for thornton - he would be nice to add to our "great" SG rotation.

Hopefully we get a bit of confidence from the win - but the fact remains that we have no dangerous shooters, and without that, when the paint clogs up, our points go dry. Hopefully raja continues heis somewhat renaissance and becomes a 15+ point scorer for us???

I must say, with AJ and elson playing together - it felt like our rebounding and defence was better - I'm not sure if that was the case - but it felt like it. Maybe the playing of AJ at PF and and Favors or Elson at C, and Milsapp off the bench - is the way to go. It would be a gutsy move for Ty to do it.

I just saw the end of the game; was surprised not to see Millsap. Was he hurt? Elson did have some good plays.

A win is a win and we needed one bad.

But this is not one to hang your hat on. Build off of? Yes. But there's a lot of building to do. Hopefully this game got them over the hump and enables the Jazz to play better down the stretch.

This team has a lot of work to do.

Cousins did post a -13 for what that is worth. He was very inefficient last night and let his emotions get the best of him on several occasions. Favors > Cousins.

Didn't KOC say Sac offered us a package for Williams? I wonder if Cousins was a part of it. I'm sure KOC wanted no part of that headcase, though.
